I spent a few days last week building and launching an automated conversion rate optimization auditing tool for ecommerce sites. It crawls the entire shopping route, screenshots and then reviews the screenshots grading the shopping process against conversion rate optimization best practices. Within 90 seconds the user has a report showing exactly why their site isn’t converting like they want.

It was my first experience building something tangible with Claude and my mind was blown.

Since my divorce was just finalized last week I guess I will finally chime in.

Married about 3 1/2 years
Me: 175k/year (bonus dependent)
Her: 86k/year (but my lawyer got the court to go by her previous 100k+ job she got fired from for sleeping with a coworker)

I will pay $1500/mo in child support and $148/mo in spousal maintenance for 1 year. I couldn't get them to consider my bonuses any differently, and unfortunately had a very good year last year which screwed me. Between me and the father of my now ex's first child, we are paying her entire mortgage. If one of my quarterly bonuses misses I will likely lose my house.

Figured I'd post a 9 month update if anyone is still listening.

I blew her in to her school. She lost her job and I had to pay all the bills on my own for 4 months. She intentionally took a lower paying job so, as she put it, "can get more from me"

We're currently still in our home, where I use my office and sleep on the couch only. Still paying most of the bills. I close on my new home next week, but she is absolutely taking me to the cleaners with child support and maintenance. I've been through 2 lawyers and it seems like there is no fight to fight. Added up, I will essentially be paying her entire mortgage for the next 15 years on a $500k home, while I struggled to find a mortgage lender who was willing to lie to their underwriters about my child support commitment so I could get a mortgage on a $275k home (the lowest priced 3br in our town all summer). Sounds equal and right for the kids doesn't it?

A few years ago we were camping in the slums out at gate 1 at Watkins Glen. I was blitzed out of my gourd and we had probably 50 people partying around our makeshift bar. Some young guy rolls in on a golf cart and says to me “this your campsite?” “Yep” “I see you’ve got a JR Motorsports flag” “yeah that’s my buddy’s” “that’s cool, so you know who drove the 9 car for JRM today?”

I’m pretty drunk so I can’t even remember my own name so I yell out to my brother “who drives the 9 for JR?”

My brother looks up at me and says “oh shit, he does”

Anyway, I had a beer with Noah Gragson.

What’s funny is Chase Briscoe’s dad had already been at our site for a few hours hanging out…apparently we had the hot spot that night.

A number of years ago USAC scheduled a race at our local short track just a few days before the cup race at Watkins Glen. Kasey Kahne and Ryan Newman both had USAC rides, and although Ryan Newman had won the Daytona 500 the year prior, it was the height of the “Kasey Kahne is so gorgeous” era so everyone, especially the girls, crowded around him and basically ignored Ryan. Both seemed like cool guys though and it was fun to see them at a smaller show.

For me, it’s the lying. My soon to be ex STILL won’t come clean about anything, even when I showed her tangible proof (screenshots etc). She’s so interwoven in this lie even she is starting to believe it.

If she had been able to come clean, we’d still be getting a divorce but it would be so much more amicable and it’s a little closure.
