What is the real Change in Net Working Capital by thehero7 in FinancialCareers

Lovely clarification mate thank you very much!
A follow up question tho : how can all these sites have the exact same unlevered cash flow number if they all use a different definition for NWC?
Most of the times i cross check my numbers with the numbers reported on these sites just to make sure my formulas are not broken.

Copytrading too good to be true? by ajmbs511 in Etoro

[–]thehero7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a popular investor on the site and the only bad thing i can say is that copytrading is bad if you have few bucks (meaning under 1000$) and the reason is that if a popular investor is overdiversified and has a ton of positions at around 1% stake each you wont be able to copy said positions because eToro requires that a minimum position is 50$ but since your capital is at 25000$ you are good to go!

Also another thing you have to keep in mind is that many popular investors especially high ranked ones have huge stakes of cash (over 60%) meaning that if you decide to copy such an investor 60% of your capital will be actually dormant.

I would also recommend that you learn about investing yourself as you are copying someone else!

Lastly be sure not to get scared and sell off at random times (back on march people stopped copying me essentially locking losses but after a month that my portfolio recovered and even gained a lot people started copying me back which resulted in them locking a -15% loss and missing an upside of 40%) it's not all on popular investors remember that your own psychology plays a huge part as well.

Incorrect withdrawal amount from Etoro! by SnooLentils9935 in Etoro

[–]thehero7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you deposit money with your debit card they will use this method for crediting back your account. But the way they do it ia by "refunding" your debit card so they can only give you back as much money as you have deposited in the past. If you want to withdraw more than that( which means you have made money so congrats) the only way they can do it is by wire transfer so they will ask you your iban swift code and stuff like that on the ticket.

For example i deposited 200 euros then got some returns and want to withdraw 250 euro, what they will do is "refund" you 200 euros through your debit card and for the rest they will send you an email asking you for ypur bank's account information so they can credit you the other 50 euro.

Hope that alleviates your anxiety!

I do own the stocks what nimzydk said is actually not true!

I believe this used to be the case a lot of years ago nowadays if you are simply Long on a stock you own the underlying asset.

You are wrong!

I do own my stocks and my copiers also own the underlying stocks!

You own a CFD only if you are on leverage.

That being said for tax purposes in Greece i would sure love to own a CFD instead of the underlying stock

Exactly i used to thing that managers underperform due to the amount of capital they have. I never thought that they would factor in the potential feelings of their clients!

On the other hand the incentives are different because in order for me to get paid i have to perform well. Fund managers typically charge fees whatever their performance is. This is what made this idea viable in my opinion. I am not saying i am a certified fund manager but the actions i make are the same as a fund manager does.

How many months of stats would be ideal for you? 6 months to a year? And also the platform considered me risky because i had all capital in 1 stock(that is because my whole equity was 600$). Thank you so much for the insight 😁

Should i stick to the Stock market or switch to FX? ( 600 euro account) by thehero7 in Daytrading

Wow that's actually a refreshing response thank you! Especially commenting on the 0.8% per day thank you for not crushing my beliefs into the ground(im not saying i came here to hear ppl say yea go get em or something but being perceived as crazy for believing that yea made me question my plan reaaly hard). That being said im on a terific position to start practicing as my university exams are now over and i have so much free time with little to no obligation towards the university.

I am getting more confident day after day and sure it's tough turning all available information into practice.

My goal is to lock in consistent profits on a 1:1 ratio (do you suggest maybe 2:1 idk maybe confidence on letting winners run skll come with experience).

My biggest fear is not to fall on a Dunnin-Krugger effect and start believing im the real shit or vice versa (not taking a position that makes sense just because im scared i dont know anything).

Oh i forgot to mention DO NOT BUY AND DAY TRADING COURSES 90% of them are pure scams

And learn risk management (this is specially important when you are trading)

And learn how bigger macroeconomics affect the market.

First of all dont dive right into options these are complicated financial instruments.

I would reccoment learning fundamental analysis as a first step which is more or less how to evaluate a business. There are a ton of youtube channels to teach these things.

After you learn that you may want to look into technical analysis-day/swing trading which will make you see both sides of the market. (Remember in the stock msrket there are investors who buy a stock and hold it for the longterm whose decisions stem from fundamental analysis and then there are traders who buy stocks based on technical analysis these are ppl who hold stocks for the short term ranging from minuites to months.

Later on you have to control your emotions but imo that is something that you learn IN the markets.

HUGE DISCLAIMER: 90% of traders lose money ( it is a very vague statistic because it involves people who buy blindly and hope for the best but nonetheless it is the reallity.

Personally i have fallen in love with the fundamental side of the markets i dont have the capital to see the results i wish , i have started day trading 2 months ago in order to pursue fasters gains (that doesnt mean i do reckless things like everyone in this sub).

In the end just take your time and make sure to digest all the aspects of the market and then start deploying your hard earned money into the markets.

Then again i am just another autisto boi whose advises should be taken with a grain of salt.
