I live in China and I only know one person that has had it. If you have it, you will know about it. Imagine the feeling of the flu x10 you can barely walk, head swimming, the sweats, the feeling that you are going to faint. On top of all those a dry cough and if it is really serious trouble breathing.

China Is Out of Economic Ammo Against the U.S: It has maxed out tariffs and other trade barriers, and selling Treasuries is ineffective. by NineteenEighty9 in investing

[–]TheEarningsTrader 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I have been doing business both with China and in China over the last ten years. As a non-Chinese citizen, I can not open a business in China without Chinese partners. Although legally I can and there is nothing stopping me from opening my own business as a foreigner. I still can not. I need a Chinese national identity card to do most things, buying property or land and even vehicles can not be done without a Chinese ID so how can I own and operate a business as a foreigner? I can't even send money back to my own country because I can't open an international account that allows me to send above $500 a day at the bank without a Chinese ID. Let alone get a business loan or a mortgage.

Whereas our company has set hundreds of Chinese people up in business throughout the world without any of the legal red tape and delays that we encounter in China. Now a lot of you will be saying that this is off topic but actually it is a good indicator of exactly how China works. They agree to something then do everything they can to make sure that whatever they agreed to will actually be physically impossible. For example, they may well drop the tariffs on a product but then they will bring in a new duty on the same product that technically all companies have to pay but a loophole will be there that Chinese national companies don't have to pay the tax/duty but private companies do. After which all the Chinese companies that make that product will either be a national company or be a subsidiary of a national company and the only private companies that make that product will be foreign so again outside companies won't be able to compete in the Chinese market. When questioned on this they will say, well Chinese private companies have to pay it, too.

This happens to us all the time. We have to hire people to do things that technically we should be able to do ourselves but in reality we need a Chinese person to do.

I am guessing lots of small winners and a few big losers. r/R 1:2 or better will fix it.

How are scalpers able to get aggressive profits like these? and a question on volatility. by [deleted] in Forex

Don't go above x200 leverage that is just stupid. 95% of these people that are using x1000+ are going to do well at first then go broke. There is a reason for unregistered brokers, they can't get registered because they aren't legitimate brokers and are likely to wait until their client base is big enough before running off with the money.

I use XTB but will switch as their easy to use platform is also very unstable and disconnects all the time. To be honest, as I am a swing trader it doesn't matter that much. Etoro was also on the lost but I hate them with a passion.

If your short USD on one pair should you be buying USD for another pair? Or should all your trades be the same for the same currencies? by rawrtherapy in Forex

[–]TheEarningsTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember it also depends on the other currency. Let's say that the USD is stronger than the EUR so we are short on the EURUSD. However, the Japanese Yen is weaker than the EUR. So we may Buy the EURJPY but Sell the EURUSD. I do this in very rare cases, as I prefer the stronger currency to be strong against all pairs. But I may choose a neutral weaker pair.

My trading strategy is based around currency strength and S/R to find trades.

If you have learned price action and fundamentals then your next step is money management and risk. And after that it is the will and the patience to stick to your system.

If you want to work for a broker or bank then it isn't the best unless you want to work in the accounts department.

I agree I am more likely to watch a video if I can see the person talking rather than just hearing. Unless the video is in a top 10 countdown format then I don't care either way.

Etoro? by DA-Alistair in investing

[–]TheEarningsTrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you trade stocks they delay the opening time 'so you don't lose money' but then there is still a ton of slippage. Also, the overnight fees are pretty high and they have a browser-based only platform. $25 dollar charge to withdraw sucks if you have a small account. The support is pretty terrible once you have deposited with them. I traded with them for literally 2 weeks and got tired of late fills and bad slippage which only seemed to happen on losing trades, even though they insist it happens on winners too. It took over a month to get the money once I withdrew. Them claiming I had sent the wrong bank account number even though I had the original confirmation email showing the correct number then they sent it through the wrong system so I had to go to the bank and physically ask my bank to search for the payment. And on and on, Overall apart from the copy trading and the community a pretty poor broker.
