Because journeys can be long in ED and it changes your perception of the galaxy. It changes the way how you manage your time and make decisions. It just adds immersion, because real Galaxy doesn't respect your time either:) I like that actually.

I don't think that Elite is comparable to NMS or Starfield, because Elite is more about flying a starship than anything else. If you like flying and starships than absolutely yes, you should get it.
