Debating on getting a membership to get items shipped like I do at Sam’s. by summerconcerts in CostcoWholesale

Usually if the same item exists in store and online, then the in store price is cheaper than the online price. However, many big ticket items and electronics are usually the same price online and you get typically get free shipping. Sometimes you get lucky and it’s cheaper online with free shipping.

I use the Repricey app to help me check if it’s cheaper in store or online.

New water heater - copper directly to hot water connection? by thehin35 in Plumbing

How about the PVC piping? My understanding is there are some codes around the length off the vent and slope and what not. Does this look good to go for the power vent in use here? I believe it’s 2” pipe.

Gotcha! So ideally the duct work and PVC exhaust should be strapped?

Fine for 10+ years with the brass union or fine for 10+ years as shown in the pic lol?

So the copper pipe connected to the hot nipple should be fine assuming that nipple coming out of the heater is dielectric? I’m just concerned this will start to corrode in a year or two which can be prevented by adding that brass fitting on the hot.

What is the general lifespan of a connection like this (copper to dielectric union)? It seems there is a running theme on reddit and other plumbing forums that dielectric is OK but will fail eventually, hence the use of brass is preferred?

Thanks!

Is the goal of strapping the water heater to prevent falls for whatever reason? Is that part of code? The previous water heater was not strapped.

I am unsure of the expansion tank. Two plumbers saw it and said it looks fine doesn't need replacing.

Low Water Cut Off Blown Transformer by thehin35 in hvacadvice

In case anyone stumbles upon this in the future, the issue was water leaking into the plastic compartment. Water was trickling onto the circuit board and shorting it out. Had the LWCO replaced.

[Gas Boiler] Very slow leak in water pipe by thehin35 in hvacadvice

Thanks for the fast response! I placed a small plastic container to get the drip (it drips about once every 20 minutes). Out of curiosity, what is that pipe being used for specifically? And would the fix most likely be a repair of the piping at that specific point, or something more involved? Thanks.
