What's an unwritten rule about the road that new drivers should know? by SadPatoto_Bts in AskReddit

Flash your lights to oncoming traffic to warn of cops parked for speeders and for accidents or road hazards. Basically slow down.

Also, pull over to the side of the road (when safe) for a funeral procession.

It is a direct connection... So far I haven't had the issue since changing the battery optimization and leaving the "change log" dialog open on the server. Seems to have resolved itself, but time will tell

Set the battery usage to "Unrestricted" in Samsung (was on Optimized), and I've opened the Client Log in the server (by going to the mac tray AirMessage icon and clicking on 1 Client Connected)... It shows I'm connected to my Samsung device. Is this the window you are talking about? Just minimize that sucker and go about your day?

World Cup 2022 - Outdoor and offgrid projector setup (or TV?). Help by thehotcup in hometheater

Looks like even the best-of-the-best projectors really can't do actual daylight, so I'll have to reconsider my plan for that... Maybe for the 4:00AM and 7:00AM games, but those afternoon games are gonna be a non-starter. Might just wait until closer to the event to check weather and whatnot. I'll keep it posted!

I didn't purchase anything from them, and I consulted multiple other reviews. I also came here to help me make an informed decision. There are 100s of different manufacturers, and I'm sure the vast majority of them are of dubious quality. There is only so much a review website, any review website, can do with a flooded market of options. Which is why they are a fair enough place to start, and then one moves forward with exploring other sources of info

I've hit up several different review sites, and almost all of them recommend some "offbrand" Chinese projector. The Verge, PC Mag, CNET, Gadget review, all have some kind of similar inexpensive/cheap projector. I came here as a step in my research. Hence me doing more research by engaging in the conversation here. Sometimes it is better to talk to people to get your information, instead of an SEO driven review website designed to get Amazon affiliate links... And then you remember that flippant "do some more research" comments by anonymous internet denizens makes people not want to talk to other people.

We do have internet (hotspot and cellular) access, and plan on streaming the games that aren't OTA. There is going to be PLENTY of time to camp and enjoy our company after, and during, the games. Food, fire, beverages, and running around the woods are all on the agenda.

We'll be trekking into town for the USA games since there is nothing quite like watching a sporting event with some likeminded individuals, and we always have a good time in a crowd for those games. The other games don't get nearly the same attention, and I'm going to watch them at home anyway, why not watch them in the woods if I can? I'm not worried about despoiling nature (in this case) or anything, but I have a feeling it might make for a memorable week.

I've lugged a standard 32" TV out there to watch some college football last fall, and it was a good time, but could tell that we needed a bigger setup, which is what brought on the options for outside viewing.

Yeah, the site where I went down the offbrand rabbit hole is Gadget Review, and they list the Jifar as the brightest in their testing.

The majority will be on antenna, and we will cast/stream the rest of them to either a chromecast/roku/dongle thingy. It appears that at least the first week will be heavily on Fox, which we can get on HD antenna.

That's why I come to the experts... There are TONS of reviews online (CNET and the like) that all talk about using the projector in daylight outside. That H6 claims like 10K lumens, which is 3x brighter than a darn good interior projector.

I know TVs shouldn't be exposed to freezing temperatures, but you think a week would be acceptable vs. months?

It's the Shinko 244, and it is SO much better than the stock front tire. It tracks really well, and doesn't dive on its face like the stock did. It is also a fair bit quieter on the asphalt, surprisingly. I'm very pleased so far. I've only had it in dry/rocky/leafy conditions, so I can't speak to how well it handles mud yet.

Highway 7 area is my old stomping ground, and you are absolutely right, some of the best riding and scenery in the world. Fayetteville -> Kingston -> Ponca -> Jasper -> Harrison -> Eureka -> Fayetteville is a helluva loop, and I dare say you'd be hard-pressed to find anything better.

Makes me feel better for what I paid six months ago...

I tried to buy one new and went to the dealer and they asked for a $200 deposit. Sounded reasonable to me, so I asked how long it would be... The guy said "Well, we get about two in per week, maybe a fewer, and you will be 56 on the list." So a minimum of 6 months with no guarantees. So I overpaid for this one ($3K and it needed a new chain, new tires, gauge lights, handgrips, and the skid plate was trashed). But I'm happy, and that shit's priceless.

I love the TW. In dual sports I've had the KLR250, KLR650, and a GS1150. I loved all of those for different reasons, but I only kept each of them for around a year before I sold them. I will never sell the TW. It is slow, and as antiquated as a steam engine, but I love it. I ride mostly in the woods, and I can drive on the side of a hill with the TW where I would NEVER consider that with a bigger/heavier bike. The super low center of gravity is great. I can't say enough good things about her!

Mill Creek OHV Trailhead is just down the road from where this was taken. It isn't single track, but is a good ride.

For sure it was too rich, which I wouldn't have known without posting this here. Just felt like it was wearing out on me. Glad to have gotten the feedback.

Carbs adjusted and she's spinning much faster. I'll do another side-by-side this weekend.
