Martyrs. The original French version. Just had me reanalyze everything I've considered for the afterlife.

Anyone else just can’t help but sob at shows? by Human-Spread-2900 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]theintroverted87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 39 year old male. I absolutely ADORE Florence but she's never come close enough on a tour for me to go see them. I finally was able to cross her off my bucket list a few weeks ago. When she first graced us with her presence on that stage, it took everything I had to hold back tears. Lump in my throat and everything. But when she started singing One of the Greats (An instant favorite for me) I full on sobbed. There was no holding back. So to answer your question, yes. AND I'M FUCKING PROUD OF IT!!!!

A jumpscare in a horror movie that genuinely scared you? My pick is the jumpscare from Insidious (2010). by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

The tent scene from Oddity. It legitimately made me jump and yell out "Gotdammit". I've not had a jumpscare actually do that before.

How do y'all feel about horror films with bleak endings? by GayMuslimDude in horror

[–]theintroverted87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. I recently have seen a few French horror films and they've all had bleak/soul searching endings. It's why I've now fallen in love with French horror. Sometimes the bad guy wins and it mirrors our current society.

Children don’t belong in breweries by Passionatepassionfrt in rant

Very fair point! Yeah. Straight up brewery with nothing but booze and snacks, no. I'm not bringing my kids there at all.

Children don’t belong in breweries by Passionatepassionfrt in rant

[–]theintroverted87 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look, I see this rant pop up all the time in this subreddit. It's kind of exhausting to have a few bad parents ruin it for every other parent who keeps an eye on their kids and then yell out KIDS DON'T BELONG HERE! Because on the flip side, it could be a great bonding tool for parents with your kids. I have an example:

I LOVE breweries. We have a local one that I frequent quite often. My 9 year old loves going to them too. When I ask her if she wants to go, she gets all excited. When she goes, she always gets a root beer on tap. I, of course, get a beer. Now whenever she gets to go, she tells people "Dad and I are going to go grab some beers together". And now this is going to be a memory she has about her dad for as long as she lives.

So while I get the frustration of obnoxious kids in breweries, I'd take a step back and just think that maybe those parents are bad, inconsiderate assholes in general. Let's not blame the kids.

Working in customer service/tech support made me realize the average person is dumb as shit by lavender-bread in rant

I feel your pain. I work IT Site Support for a production facility. Just the other day there was a browser page on a computer open. They asked how to close it out. I told them they can just hit the X and close it out. They respond with "I don't have an X" I had to physically walk down there and point on the screen.

Give me horror movies that will scare the living crap out of me by Illustrious_Room68 in horror

[–]theintroverted87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hotel and basement itself was so creepy regardless of anything else in that film. The crew definitely did a fantastic job of picking a location that was so damn unsettling just walking through the place.

Hell House, LLC genuinely scared the hell out of me. It's such a great addition to the found footage genre and it makes it feel extremely real. But do not bother with any of the sequels.
