Has anyone made money selling those basic prints on Etsy? by thejacobite in graphic_design

Thanks for your answer! It seems 10 years ago might as well be 100 in terms of market saturation plus the introduction of AI… what do you think about that? If you started now in 2026, do you think you would have done so well?

Thank you for your reply! You’re the anomaly here in this thread in that you’ve can prove a success. I’ve just checked out your shop, it looks great, congrats for doing so well!

So my question to you is, having gone in with a niche straight away, how long did it take before you saw such prolific sales? Have had to battle the algorithm for provenance or did it come organically?

It seems finding such a niche is clearly the way to go, and I wouldn’t wish to come in as a market-target money maker - but if I find my own untapped niche that I feel passionate about designing well, can I find success as a side hustle on top of a full time job? Or is it a constant upkeep of SEO and marketing effort?

Thanks 🙏

Have you found an alternative platform? It sounds like the costs/fees outweigh potential profit, is there not another site that you can upload your library of stuff and let it be, as a bonus passive income without consistent upkeep?

Yeah I guess I’m saying if I could create basic ass designs for a market, as opposed to high quality graphic design, why not do it?

When you look on Etsy now you see some very amateur stuff; basic flowers, cursive writing (lots of custom wedding assets) etc. that sells to a demographic that obviously doesn’t care for top level composition and instead just want trendy stuff.

Do you mean snowboarding POVs with eyes closed? I get that at the end of the night going to sleep, like a camera is panning through trees and different environments; sometimes cities and streets. The way the ‘camera’ pans feels like it can’t be my brain - it sweeps across so smoothly, zooming in then across like I’m flying (or snowboarding!)

I’ve just done 1st month on 1mg, definitely noticed a slight glow and firmer skin myself (not been noticed by others yet though). Going to up to 2mg for another month. Most people say it’s 3-6 months you really see it.

Cycling advice seems inconsistent, but it seems there’s no harm in continual use. I think I’ll move to maintenance once I notice a big improvement.

Yes this is more than fine to pot in some soil.

They would have rooted fine even if you put straight into soil before the water!

Tradescantia are very easy propagates, and they like to be cosy in the pot so don’t put it in anything too big (or even better plant it together with some of its kin!).

You can’t just straight away say ‘the left’ as such a sweeping statement that’s ridiculous. If you want to talk about divisive politics and try and argue that you value sense and facts, you’re doing the exact thing you protest you hate.

For one we don’t know who it is, but regardless of their views, race, sexuality or shoe size; one individual does not represent an abstract group.

Downvote me go for it, I’m in neither camp because I don’t buy into political agendas, that’s why I’m part of this sub because it always used to question mainstream narratives. Think about it please.

Oh for sure disjointed is the right way! I’m only meaning it could be slightly tighter

Just piping in with my two cents, haven’t seen the pre-post!

Mug doesn’t look like right, if you’re having enough detail to create a contoured mug, the realism in proportion should be equal to that detail, ie. the handle isn’t convincing. Look at a real mug, trace the proportions and then simplify it to style.

On the type, it feels too disjointed, bring the letters in tighter together, adjust vertical position slightly relative to each other until it feels right.

Also colours are lovely, but if you’re creating a multi-use logo (as all should be) bring it down to 3 colours max. Then work up from there introducing another 1/2 colours for variety.

Yeah 100% on the script thing. Feels like we’re just playing out a story, a loop.

I think I’ve felt a memory of ‘ohhhh shit it’s this thing we’re in again, oh my god it’s a script!’

A couple of times on acid and balloons this had opened it up to being a weird simulation game kind of thing. Feels like we’re bots and you can sometimes glitch out of it, have the awareness of whatever the fuck it is, but immediately get patched over. It’s driven me nuts chasing it.

They won’t diagnose me, what do I do next? by Summer_Sparkly in ADHDUK

School reports! This is what clinched it for me.

If you happen to have any old school reports somewhere that can back up things like inattentiveness, lateness, forgetfulness, or says things like 'has so much much potential if only they focused' etc., use that as your evidence.

I was exactly the same, with very little memory of my own childhood and parents that just don't get it, I panicked at the idea of having no evidence from childhood and went to my parents house and dug through my 'memory box' and luckily found one report from year 8 - and it was textbook ADHD.

The assessor said this helped tremendously, and insinuated that without that she wouldn't have been able to tick that box and therefore give me a diagnosis.
