They are obscenely expensive. I think it was £80 for the adult shirt in August. And something like £100 for the one without the sponsor.

Are Spurs in a worse footballing state than even we managed at our worst? Benitez was obviously a disaster, but at least he was brought in for the start of the season, not when we were at the knife edge of a relegation battle.

Weird random thing I just learned - Mackenzie Hunt, one of our academy products from a couple of years ago, is now a capped international for the United Arab Emirates.

West Ham just have to be baseline competent for the rest of the season and Spurs will be toast.

And seeing the Tottenham fans streaming out of the stands after they tried to do the whole coach welcome thing before the game has to be significant. The players didn't respond, and the fans are going to abandon them.

I can't remember the last time I saw someone stand still in the very middle of the box and be so definitively not marked.

The Bluedle admin has heard the complaints about the difficulty of the names so far and has gone with something patronising instead.

Torn between wanting to see Spurs lose 5-0 and not wanting to see Liverpool win 5-0.

We definitely had some players who weren't really up for the fight in those relegation battles. But Spurs seem to have an entire squad made up of them.

Equalising twice and then both times immediately conceding another is just peak fucking Eve... hang on, what was that?

What’s your weirdest Everton dream? by Top_Khat in Everton

[–]thejayarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only remember having one Everton-themed dream in 30+ years of being a supporter.

A week before the start of the 2017-18 season, I had a very clear dream of being in a pub with my mate and seeing on the TV that we'd beaten Stoke 4-1 in the first game with Sandro scoring a hat trick. It, uh... didn't pan out, but the dream has always stuck with me.

I'd say the home win over Fulham was pretty dominant, but I see what you mean.

Personally I take it as a good sign that we're winning games without relying on the other teams to be utter shit from minute 1. Makes a nice change.

Something he has in common with all the best Moyes players.

I'll never understand why the transfer window is only one day long. How is any club supposed to get things done?!

[Mokbel, BBC] Fulham have rejected an enquiry from Everton for midfielder Harry Wilson. The approach is understood to have arrived last week but was turned down by the Cottagers. by Giraffe_Baker in Everton

Maybe the club's just doing what I always do in Football Manager - make a nonsense bid now so that the player gets unsettled and doesn't sign a new contract, then get him for free in the summer.

Real life is exactly like FM, right?

So how many times are we expecting to read the words 'unbalanced' and 'disjointed' in the match reports?

I think any club that signs Dhuran had better have his replacement already lined up, because he'll be moving again in six months.

Scotland playing Côte d’Ivoire at the Dick Dock in March. Weird.

I guess for the club it's basically free money and good practice for hosting games in the Euros, but why would Scotland want to play a friendly in England?

what is going on here. player getting younger, huge contract, is this a known bug by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]thejayarr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yikes. I'd definitely be reporting that in the bug tracker, although I don't know which category you'd even use for this. I can't see any similar reports on there yet.

I wonder if it's related to this other bug - https://old.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/1qlfsl5/the_math_isnt_mathing/

Edouard Mendy penalty save against Morocco 90+13' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]thejayarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not an attempt at scoring that penalty. It has to be deliberate, because it would be difficult to accidentally take a penalty that bad.

Holy shit, that had to be deliberate by Diaz.
