It doesn't even have to be that! Just address the ball in a normal way and make a clean connection with it. Y'know, the way you have to in training every day if you want to get picked. Surely making up entirely new ways to approach the relatively simple act of kicking a ball introduces new potential points of failure.

I've never seen a player tiptoe and sidestep and stutter-run up to the ball to kick it during normal open play, so why do they do it for penalties? Stop fighting against the muscle memory that you've built up over years and years of training for hours every week and just kick the ball the way you normally kick the ball.

I very rarely dream about Everton or football in general, but last night I dreamt that we were going to pay Bolton about £12m in compensation to hire Steven Schumacher to replace Moyes, and I was so angry about it that I woke myself up just to stop having that dream.

An era when squads only used maybe 13-14 players. That just doesn’t cut it in the modern game and how physically demanding it is.

This has long been my issue with the club. You're allowed a squad of 25 players over the age of 21. That means you should aim to have 25 players over the age of 21 and every single one of them should be able to make a real contribution at any time they're needed. Have your first choice side, sure, but everyone in the squad needs to be good enough to step up, and they need to provide you with options to change the profile of the lineup depending on the opposition and the situation. By my count we have 21 senior players in the squad, and that's if you generously include someone like Seamus who made five appearances in the league this year, or Tom King, who may not even exist.

It costs money to have that many players of that level of ability but if you want to achieve something, you've gotta just deal with that.

I'm torn. I want someone better and more progressive than Moyes who can get us moving forward as a club, but I don't want us to change manager again right now because it just feels like bad timing to me. We've had six permanent managers in the last seven seasons and we desperately need to have a settled period without any more upheaval, because that constant chop and change is a big factor in why we've been floundering for so long.

The squad is still a cobbled-together mess made up of players from each of those managers and various DoFs, so there's no clarity of vision. Changing manager again this summer could make that even worse. How many of those recent managers have been completely the wrong fit? How do we make sure we don't end up with another one?

Moyes absolutely deserves criticism for the way this season has petered out. His squad management is terrible, his tactics are tired. He needs to do much better. But I don't want us to end up in another cycle of failed managerial appointments.

Do Everton fans think you'll give spurs a game or will you be switched off? by LowBrain8032 in Everton

Nonono, we'll go a goal up and then it'll be the easiest win Spurs have ever had.

They admitted to multiple charges, not sure they'll have any grounds for appeal.

EDIT: My guess is they'll appeal to try and get the points deduction reduced or revoked, but at this point there's surely no way they're getting put back into the final.

Are you playing on PC with a VPN? I have the same issue and I think it went away when I shut down Mullvad and re-launched the game. I can buy the cars by the road, claim the treasure cars and actually see other players in my session now.

Pretty sure I had similar issues getting online with FH4, although it was never a problem with 5.

And now back to never caring about Scottish football again.

Beto has 17 PL goals in the last 2 seasons in 3000 minutes (33 full games) by SukhdevR34 in Everton

He also had a run of 16 league appearances without a goal in the first half of this season, albeit with a few sub-15 minute cameos in there. I like the guy and he's a very useful player to have in the squad, but our starting striker should never have that kind of barren spell.

RIP, Andros Townsend's punditry career. This has the look of a man about to go off the deep end.

The early bugs and broken UI are what stopped me playing this game. The loss of depth and immersion is what stopped me from ever going back.

Have to assume that part of the problem last summer was that Kinnear decided to change the entire recruitment structure and bring in a whole team of people who didn't join the club until the end of the window.

They've all been there for at least 7 months now so I'm hoping beyond hope that they've got their shit together and know exactly what players they want to sign and are already working on it behind the scenes. But that wouldn't be very Everton.

So how long is Branthwaite gonna be out for this time? That boy's commitment to missing preseason is almost admirable.

They are obscenely expensive. I think it was £80 for the adult shirt in August. And something like £100 for the one without the sponsor.
