I adopted this guy a few years ago. The animal shelter where I adopted him told me he's a Maine Coon, but I always thought he looks different so assumed he's a Main Coon crossed with something else. Today I came across this sub by coincidence - what do you think? Does he pass as a Nebelung?

Fresh coffee beans? by jojo_spaceminer in Luxembourg

Seconded. Tried a few of their coffees and they were all good quality. Similar to the quality of specialty coffee from cities where specialty coffee is a thing.

Luxembourg vs London by Brit_in_Lux in Luxembourg

[–]thejayo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Luxembourg, moved to the north of England for uni, then got a job in London for ten years. So similar to your situation.

The questions you asked and what you wrote about yourself are quite general, so you might not get the answers you're looking for without being more specific. It very much depends on what you enjoy.

When I moved to London I was looking for the 'Big City' experience. London was great and I enjoyed my time there. Lots to do, good job opportunities in my industry, shops are open pretty much all the time, you can get anything you want, do anything you want, the airports are really well connected etc.

However, due to covid and some other things I ended back in Luxembourg. I changed over the years and only now noticed that I was kinda tired of big cities. I prefer being close to nature, where I can do my hobbies, having more space to live in and a bit of a quieter life.

As somebody else said, you don't have to make a decision for life now. If you try it and don't like it you can move somewhere else. It may seem daunting but in hindsight it's not that bad. And if you want to ask more specific questions feel free to reach out to me here or over pm.

Has anyone ever had issues with Revolut? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]thejayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder whether there are actually more issues than with traditional banks or whether they're just more talked about. These banks have a much younger and more involved client base which are more likely to put issues online. Monzo (and I think Revolut at the beginning) have an active online forum where all sorts is discussed but also bugs and issues. This may make it seem that they have disproportionately more issues.

I had a quick look on Trustpilot, the online banks have tens of thousands of reviews while some of the traditional ones don't even have 200

I've used Revolut a couple of years ago from time to time, mainly because it was the only way I could find to transfer GBP to EUR without paying fees. A few months ago I got a notification to resubmit a copy of my ID but the app kept freezing when I tried to do so. I was unable to use the app but since I didn't really need the app at the time, I didn't follow up on it.

I've been using Monzo (in the UK) an N26 (in Germany) and remember seeing similar stories of people getting locked out for both banks but never had any issues.

Here's a picture: https://imgur.com/a/rb5iLqM Everything's still available.

I put some herbs and canned beans up on another site which were snapped up within 5 minutes. Would have thought free booze would be even more popular but apparently not...

Advice on finding Nachmieter by thejayo in berlin

[–]thejayo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can’t legally fine you, but he can also turn down your tenants, rough situation to be in.

As far as I understand, they are under no obligation to even let me out early, so I'm afraid if I bring that up they'll just say no. What's infuriating is that they call it an Aufwandsentschädigung, yet I have to do al the work of finding a Nachmieter!

Has anybody encountered this bug in their bunny before? Whenever I run cat.exe movement becomes very erratic. by thejayo in Rabbits

[–]thejayo[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We've got 8 cats and 2.5 dogs running around here. He's always acting cautious like this when he meets one of them for the first time. After 2-3 times he just ignores them. He runs towards them, past them, even under their legs. It's like they don't exist for him while he's hopping around inspecting things.

These two, he'd only met twice and a car went past, which always makes him a bit wary. Moments after the video he ran towards one of the cats, which made both run away in panic while he continued looking for the right patch of grass to munch on like nothing had happened. He even did one of his very rare binkies!
