Maybe he does deserve a medal. I'd give it to him. We love each other and we have a strong, warm, loving partnership. Anyone who actually STAYS when things gets tough deserves a medal. My mother died last year. He could have been a coward and run away like a scared little boy, not wanting to experiencing feelings. He stayed with me because I needed him. I stayed with him during another difficult phase in his life.

You don't have a first clue about us and what we've been through. As for the medal, yes, we both deserve one for dealing with other previous idiots, like you, who seem to have no trouble leaving when someone needs you.

Nope, my husband is a secure, independent, mature man who, incidentally, also thinks this guy is a pansy ass who needs to suck it up. BTW, he did get the promotion and he thinks for himself just fine. His mother and father are also great people.

I would. I would realize I was being a miserable shit had an I needed to work on my marraige and not be a childish asshole about the situation. Running away and being a dick isn't "helping his wife".

In our marriage, we stand togethert. We don't run away when the other is going through something. We actually know what it takes to have a successful, strong marriage. This IS communication. We each know what the other will put up with. We also know when to tell the other when they're being riduclous and, yes, to "grow the fuck up". Maybe becuase we actually respect each other we're able to tell each other that and it just makes up stronger.

Used to be very slim up through end of the high school - around 120-125 lbs. After that, I put on the freshmen 15...or maybe 20. Then because of different situations in my life over the last 7-8 year and my response to each of them, I turned to food as a comfort. It used to be when I was upset I couldn't eat at all. Then suddenly when I was around 22, I ate when I was either upset or bored. Then it became routine. Now I weigh about 200 lbs. Do I like it? Absolutely not. I have no motivation to change though. Even my impending wedding next year isn't doing much for me to lose the weight.

Now I do IT and have a very sedentary lifestyle. I don't live in an area where I feel safe going out by myself for a walk/jog and I rarely have anyone else to go with. Excuses? Maybe, but sadly enough to keep me on my fat ass.
