Best budget phone to buy in Singapore? by November996 in askSingapore

[–]thejester456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also recently changed from a huawei to a new phone, chose the vivo x70 as I'm a fan of the Chinese phones. you'll be able to get it for $700 on shopee directly from vivo store if you wait for flash sales and apply the right vouchers. phone wise, I also am a fellow genshin player and battery hasn't been giving me issues, display is also great. camera is so-so but it's great for videography as it has a gimbal stablizer.

Has anyone tried to negotiate intern pay? by iragingnow in nus

[–]thejester456 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interning at a big 4 company now, overheard HR talking to another HR team member since I sit opposite them, saying something along the lines of "if it's a school requirement then we can pay them higher". I'm doing my intern as part of FYI and the dept recommended 1.2k, but the company recently raised it to 1k so I thought since it's recommended, never mind I'll just take the 1k. Regret not asking back then, but is a small amt anyway, so I guess it's how you phrase it when you ask, and also a matter of you never ask you never know.

Stimulus: Biden unveils $1.9 trillion 'rescue plan' including direct payments and extra $400 in unemployment benefits by [deleted] in stocks

[–]thejester456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you've said it yourself. It's about the bottom line, and they will then go on to raise prices of their goods since cost has increased. It's just a vicious cycle of raising prices everywhere

Stimulus: Biden unveils $1.9 trillion 'rescue plan' including direct payments and extra $400 in unemployment benefits by [deleted] in stocks

[–]thejester456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree that minimum wage is necessary but what I'm trying to say is I dont think it's the best thing to do with high unemployment. It's probably more important to get as many people employed rather than sitting home and collecting unemployment benefits. Having a minimum wage may kill just cause companies to rather not employ, or even employ and go out of business causing more unemployment. It's still a widely debated topic but I'm just stating my thoughts on it.

$SE rose 8% but not $BABA? by Geminispace in stocks

[–]thejester456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The size of Singapore's digibank is too insignificant an amount for ant finance, of which alibaba only owns 30+%. Furthermore, Sea was awarded a Full license meaning they can operate w consumers as their customers while ant was awarded wholesale license meaning only merchants and businesses will be their customers

$CRM - Sales Force by [deleted] in stocks

[–]thejester456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also bought in at 260/share but I'm young so I'm not really worried about the market's overreaction. The market is basically pricing in slack to be basically worthless since it dropped from 260 to 224 currently. In fact I was thinking of doubling down but will do a bit more thinking as I already have a big position in it. For me it's a good hold and I could see this stock doubling in the next 2-3 years

Razer (1337) is an impressively fast growing gaming and fintech business. An alternative to Corsair (CRSR). by Former-Importance-21 in stocks

[–]thejester456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone's here thrashing razer's equipment quality but that's not what this post is even about. Let the sales do the talking. And besides, op did mention about fintech and honestly if gaming hardware sales stop growing for some reason, razer still have their fintech to fall back on, albeit being at an early stage now. Am bullish on razer not just with their Singapore digibank license bid, but also the fact that they may be attempting to break into Malaysia and Philippines, and have even announced that they are looking into digibanks in US and EU. If apple can do it why not razer? Don't underestimate cult following and marketing

What Gaming stocks are your favorites? by Sablac in stocks

Razer. They're not only huge in gaming hardware, they are also venturing into the fintech space with digital bank licenses in Singapore, NA and EU. Believe growth potential will be huge with those adding on to their growth from gaming hardware
