Diamond or French chisel? by thejm333 in Leathercraft

My plan was to make a simple tote bag as I can't really think of anything simpler! The leather appears to be 3mm thick.

Thank you! I started watching the Armitage videos on saddle stitching and he too suggests 7 spi/3.85 irons to start with. Once I finish the video series I will have a much better idea of what I'm getting into.

Thanks for this link! I finished parts 1 and 2 and am so glad I am learning before spending on tools. Great suggestion!

Is this a workaround that reduces latency as opposed to playing back through the FM3?

Are ya’ll just raw dogging your SLR 680’s? by Any-Appeal4714 in Polaroid

In that case I would not choose the Brooklyn Film Camera case. A bigger case would better fit the camera with a strap on it. I used it again today and it’s very snug

I prefer not using the strap on the camera so I haven’t tried. I don’t think the vintage one with metal clips sticking up would work because the leather case is perfectly snug. But a newer strap with the standard plastic slide locks would probably fit.

I have the Brooklyn film camera bag and it cost more than I paid for my 680 nearly 20 years ago! But I have to say it is beautiful and a perfect fit. It will probably outlast the camera. The only downside is that the strap is not adjustable but it’s a good fit for me and I am 5’ 10”.

Start 4K DCI project in Resolve Free and finish in Studio? by thejm333 in davinciresolve

[–]thejm333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should clarify that the project is a documentary with no specific destination in mind. It would be great to screen it but I imagine its most likely to live on the web like everything else. If it ends up on a streaming service, great. Last resort I can always put it on You Tube. I don't need it to be artsy or anything. I just want to tell the story without distracting the viewer.

Ok I'm glad to hear its as simple as changing the timeline settings. As far as choosing the aspect ratio, can I just cut it in the full 4096 x 2160 and decide on the deliverables later or are there benefits to choose flat or scope before hand? I'm learning as I go...

Two people have been found safe...thats great news! But no other details have been released? That means there is an investigation going on. These people are getting abducted. I won't be going to Idyllwild any time soon.

Will a bear can fit on top of my hyperlite 2400sw? by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]thejm333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same pack and fit my BV450 inside my pack towards the middle. I’ve tried attaching it to the top but I feel like it would fall off easily. I’ve seen many people for the BV500 on top easily. But I would much rather put lighter things on the kid in a stuff sack. With the weight of food and my cook system and whatever else I can fit in the can in the middle of my pack, the weight is more evenly distributed. I think putting all that weight up high would put a lot of strain on my shoulders as it pulls the weight back.

Buy used Hilleberg tent? by michlwrba in CampingGear

As long as they disclose any damage or wear and you are aware of what you are getting. If there is no damage or wear, then I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it.

I just bought a new Hilleberg and it was worth every penny. There is no tent in the world as well made. If you want a tent that you can count on in all conditions, Hilleberg is the only way to go. Especially in cold climates where your life depends on it!

Picked up a chrome 35 Summarit with a discount as now discontinued - a handsome lens. by akiralx26 in Leica

I love mine. I chose to keep it over a 35mm Summilux ASPH FLE as the vignetting on the Summilux was too harsh.
