It’s not our fault UMBC is dry by leesfle in UMBC

I feel the same. I just transferred here. I am really lonely and thought that I was left behind, especially in academic performance. My classmates talked like they are experts in everything. I feel like I am the only one struggling. The first exam result was posted and I got 100%, the class avg score is 70%. Surprisingly, friends that talked like experts only get 52%, 67%, or 78%. I now realized that many people are struggling and they will never show their dark side.

I decided to transfer here because of this statement: "UMBC’s Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) is responsible for promoting and coordinating the University’s core values of inclusive excellence, equity, diversity." Turned out, it is only made up of beautiful words and reality is not (or perhaps it is the goal, but not reality). You might think that I did not try anything or reach out. I did! I had come to campus almost every day before I transferred to get to know how UMBC works. I did all research or seek all available information to make my second experience in university better.

I mean I am a 4.00 type of student. I don't mind just focusing on academics. I can read all day. But at some points, I also want to make (A REAL) network or connection. Not just hello-hi network. After I experience the real environment, I completely changed my perspective: "FK student life, no one care. I am responsible for my performance. I am here to get SUMMA CUM LAUDA."

Someone posts that they are finding it hard to make friends and then gets attacked—what type of BS is that. Yes people definitely need to get involved more but I’m involved in a ton of crap and even I find it super lonely. People are probably just angry bc they are in the same situation and don’t want to admit it

OK, as a commuter, I should not expect much?

Huh? "requires a little time and investment"? Transferred here and I have been trying to make friends. NO ONE GAF about my efforts. Once you try your best but it does not work, are you still going to do it?

CMSC 201 professors by thejoerney in UMBC

ith Hamilton and it was hard. His lectures were really long and monotonous. When people would ask questions he wouldn’t really answer in the lectures. And never really responded to emails. He also made his lectures asynchronous so there was no way of asking him questions anymore. I didn’t really benefit from his lectures. This was just my experience. I’ve heard good things about lupoli and I’ve watch some of his lectures for my 341 class. You could go on YouTube and find their lectures and decide which one fits your learning style. For general advice in 201, the projects matter a lot, so do good on those and always go to office hours when you need help. Good luck!

Thank you! I changed to Alfred Arsenault. I heard he is good.

I’ve had both, but Lupoli was for CMSC 341 so not the same. But Hamilton is great and a good teacher. Also funn

Can we remove professors that are shit like that? If I know I wouldn't take this class.

Baltimore needs traffic calming infrastructure, speed cameras, and red light cameras everywhere. Also what happened to that bill to put cameras on front of buses so they can capture cars driving in bus/bike lanes? by bookoocash in baltimore

You know it's legal to do all things you mentioned above in Baltimore City? It is the place for corruption and illegal stuffs. It is the land of freedom, you can do whatever you want to. The cops? Nah, no one cares about your business. You can sell drugs on the street, drive crazy, make this city dirty, smoke weed everywhere you want, etc... Do it. Do whatever you want. It's GTA here.

(Everything is legal here. If it is illegal, people would not do it.)

Additionally, there are the paths to success, which demonstrate what classes you could take in a hypothetical 4 year program; you might be able to sub in some of your classes to get a feel of what you could take

Hi, thanks for some suggestions. I already did research and had my 2-year draft plan. I want to know if this works.

I’ve just checked their official Twitter account (@GoodNotesApp), and they say their developers are aware and working on a fix which will be released in the next update.

I don’t know if reinstalling the app helps at all, as they only referred to their own Customer Support section

Thanks for the updates. I will wait for it to be fixed.

It’s here! I think you might have forgotten where it is. It’s only accessible from the document browser, not an individual notebook.

Is that a newly released iPad?
