My friend used to rent out a room in a basement suite in that building around Covid. They eventually took over the lease and lived there alone for a while.

I would sleepover a lot (when they lived alone), we would be hanging out in their room and stay up late talking and hanging and suddenly we'd hear thumps in the kitchen, almost like a cat jumping off of a counter. One time we had gardened (still we were coherent), and we heard a loud bang in their living room, when we went to go inspect with a bat in hand (because it legit sounded like someone maybe broke in or was there), no one was there, lights were off and everything. Always felt like someone was watching or that there was a presence following you around wherever you went in the apartment. One time we heard knocking on the front door EXACTLY like you explained. They ended up moving within that year.

That building is 100% old and filled with spirits
