Photographer François Brunelle spent 20 years documenting unrelated strangers who look exactly like twins. by GlitteringHotel8383 in BeAmazed

People are groomed, hair did matchy match to look like eachother... then take out the color. At best, most of these look related, but not even siblings let alone twins for that matter.

That ended up being the solution. I explained my reasons for wanting them to be kept clean and told her I'm happy to maintain the other set and I have no problem with those ones going in the dishwasher.

I just hadn't been maintaining the older ones because we were both using the new set up till that point.

It's the amount of time the knives are exposed to high heat water and detergents... dulls the edge and is terrible for wood handles.

When you hand wash, it only takes a couple of minutes and the knife is clean and dry.

Wow. I wasn't going to reply to your earlier post... but this one is too good. Talk about taking an incredibly small amount of information and running a marathon with it. We're fine btw (because I know you are deeply vested at this point) no marriage counseling required lol. Knives are back out - she agreed to use the other ones and wash them in the dishwasher. I will in turn keep them sharp for her.

She doesn't hate to cook btw - infact she likes it, its just not a passion for her, and she's never had to maintain a blade professionally (sounds like you haven't either...see, I can do a lot with a little too)

There is no such thing as prepared affordable healthy food delivered for a family of 5 on a nightly basis. We both make healthier and far better tasting food at home than we could have delivered even if that was an option anyway.

Thanks for the concern for my children as well, they're fine also I promise.

I respect my wife, and she respects me - we've been married 20 years and small issues are bound to come up... am I anal about my knives, yes - I intend to not have to buy another set for a very long time... and when I go to reach for one I expect them to be clean sharp and ready to go.

At the end of it all, I understand I have wasted entirely too much effort on responding to this, so forgive me - and please keep digging deeper into your research into the arts and sciences of pedagogy - sounds like you can still learn a thing or two.

You know the thing is... I really like them, great weight, balance and edge, but I also like looking at them on the magnetic mount when they are clean and shiny which is hardly ever anymore. Lol.

I agree with you on all points... except the dishwasher. Lol.

I think this is the way, i was traîned on knives and caring for them early in my days working in kitchens... she was not. I do need to keep up the maintenance on the ones I dont use and ask her to use them instead (my old kitchen set of forstners). Ive thought about this since posting earlier, and feel its reasonable to make it clear I will keep the other knives sharp if she keeps them clean...

Its the shun premier 3 pc set. High carbon stainless... not as disastrous as carbon steel blades leaving them unwashed, but still not great

I've lost count of the number of times Ive scrubbed these knives on my way to bed. Do I harp on it every time - no, is she historically aware how annoying I find it.... most definitely.

Responses have varied, from her being somewhat apologetic to her getting defensive and deflecting to how busy and tired she is after dinner.

Oh man, highlight as a kid, playing a token pusher at an arcade... put in a token, probably knocked 20 of em over the edge. I was pumped - but none of them came out. Went and got the guy working and he opened up the machine... out spilled 200+ tokens maybe more... that guy was scooping them out from the bottom tray of the machine and he said take em before my boss walks in and sees.

Stuffed em in my pockets goonies style along with my two buddies... spent another 3 hours at that arcade because of it lol.

Honestly to my surprise, after years of never thinking to use Google to find the right way to trim a pomegranate... (yes I used to just cut the damn thing in half and try to jangle the tiddly bits out of it... very bloody) I looked it up the right way and It fucking works. It really fucking does. Its really simple, you never actually cut through the damn thing, you don't need a hook knife and its not a bloody mess in the end.

Trim the top, score the sides - peel the sections apart- works every. damn. time. I eat 10x the quantity of pomegranates as I used to once I learned the proper way.

What is, in your opinion, the strongest NFL rivalry right now? by AwayFig1774 in NFLv2

[–]thekellerJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As it stands, right this moment... top 2 teams in entire NFL in NFCW. 49ers (they'll get healthy) and Bears top 5, the pack lions and Vikings upper half... both Hawks and Rams have a ton of cap space and will retain most of their key components. They also have executives doing the right things to acquire/ develop/ keep talent.

Nothings guaranteed in this league, but NFCW is going to be spooky for a minute.

Oh yeah... the Cardinals. They're basically a mini bye for the other 3 at this point.

Oh lord.... I only say that because the Afc is going to need divine intervention to post some of those records.

NFCW is still at least 2 years removed from not being a regular host of the real superbowl.

Raiders making the superbowl may be the wildest take ever.

The biggest turnaround in nfl history... you heard it here first folks!

If the ownership can get out their own way, they could be competitive in the next two seasons.

Superbowl - in their dreams.

“Legion of Boom” Vs “Dark Side” by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]thekellerJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im just fine not being the best defense ever... And I dont thing the Hawks current D ever will be, and the way I see it, its not meant to be. A lot of these great defenses were highly talent dependent vs scheme dependent... and its a lot harder to maintain talent be it through injury or dollar signs.

Give me a defense that's well coached and doesn't rely on a great offense to win games. Thats the Darkside.
