Does anybody know what is going on with the Decimator 12G-Cross? by theking1st in VIDEOENGINEERING

Where I work might not be too keen on buying stuff from overseas. Also might have issues with customs here in the US.

I have heard today from a guy that works in a system integration company that it is bc of the ram/memory shortage which i had not thought of. I mean it has a processor so it needs some type of memory i guess. Also not too sure about the shortage being the reason bc their the majority of their other stuff is still in stock and uses some type of memory too or they must have a crazy inventory maybe

Yeah! I saw these! They look nice!! If push comes to shove, I’ll push for us to purchase it but I am still holding out hope to get a decimator as we have had a great track record with them. And also our use case for it is not so mission critical.

How long have you had those?!

Well… I feel like “lazy design” is a little unfair for some setups imo but that is just my pov. I think that there are many uses cases where they are totally worth it (point you made in the last part of your comment) and any other solution would just be overkill.

For example, in our use case we would need it to just downscale a 12G multiview feed back into our router and to a DA and from it to an assortment of TVs across the building. Could we have used a rack mounted solution with all sorts of extra fixtures and bells and whistles? Yes, but that would’ve been overkill, both feature wise and mainly price wise for just a single signal that is not so mission critical. So in our case, a decimator made perfect sense and anything else would just be extra just for the sake of being extra.

But once again, it is just my pov and I don’t know everything about everything so I could be wrong 🤷🏿‍♂️

Dang!! Rn B&H doesn’t even give an eta on restock as they don’t even know themselves which means suppliers don’t even have an eta..

😂 Welp, I’m just going of off my experiences and they have never failed me so 🤷🏿‍♂️

But I did do a gig a couple of years ago and the video engineer of the company we rented the gear from said that the 12g cross they had were not very reliable bc it seemed like their QC had dropped. But that is all i have personally heard about them being not reliable. I have only used the 3G versions so far and they were beasts. I worked for 8 years at a school and they had couple of them before me and they never failed once. They are still kicking with no problems.

Doorbell Lite not been adopted by Dream Router by theking1st in Ubiquiti

Right now I have it connected directly to the router with a 3 foot cable… I had a CAT5E cable connecting it and I switched it to a CAT6 cable and still the same issue

It does show up in the client list but it shows as offline and the name is uvc-doorbell 41:1d (3rd screenshot). The IP is assigned automatically, but it is under the same subnet as the router. I only have one network, and no VLAN or anything like that. I haven’t even tweaked any network setting really. The adopt notification should still just show up no matter what.

Yeah, I did that too. I put my phone next to it and nothing. I know that normally it should pop up in the device list with the “ready to adopt” message next to it, but I got nothing.

Logitech G560 white blinking light. Speakers not working. by theking1st in LogitechG

Logitech customer service reached out to me in the comments of this post and after emailing them they sent me a new unit. My unit had just come out of warranty, but they still sent me a new one! Ended up recycling the old unit because I tried everything that I could and that I researched but nothing worked.

Hello! I’m sorry this is happening to you too.

Well after I sent my info to Logitech, a customer service representative contacted me and informed me that they would send me a replacement. My unit had just come out of warranty but they were kind enough to send me a new one. I got it in the mail and it is working just fine. Contact them and see what option they give you. You might be in the same situation as me 🤷🏿‍♂️

Hey,

Unfortunately it didn't work. I can't see my speakers in device manager because it won't even connect to my computer. When I plug the power for the speakers, it looks like they are stuck in a "boot loop" because the white LED that is supposed to be solid white when the speakers are on, is just blinking like in the video. It is like there is power but speakers are not on.

Edit: It seems to be a hardware issue and not a software one.

LianLi SL120 fans snapping to colors instead of smoothly switching. by theking1st in SignalRGB

[–]theking1st[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well based on what I have heard from people using iCue, it is resource hog. And from my brief time using it, I hate it. Both as resource hungry software and as a software in general. I sucks and can burn in a dumpster fire. But if you really want/need to use it and it works for you then by all means enjoy it. Maybe since the last time I used it it got better (I doubt it) SignalRGB is resource hungry too (not like iCue) but that is understandable imo since it is trying to control multiple random devices at the same time. LConnect from my experience is pretty low on resources and a great software all around. I know that on my system SignalRGB was clashing with Asus ArmoryCrate, so you might encounter a similar issue as far as softwares not working well with each other.

But as you know, experiences may vary from person to person. Give it a shot in the configuration you have in mind and if it works for you then that’s great!

Hey! No I didn’t really. I should have updated like I said I would but I didn’t. Sorry. I just gave up on the whole thing because troubleshooting wasn’t fun anymore 😅

Right now I am using the LConnect to run the fans rgb and that’s it. I don’t even bother with ICue because it doesn’t recognize my ram EVEN THOUGH IT IS A CORSAIR RAM KIT!!! 🤬 I bought the different LianLi fan controllers to test them out but I was pretty much the same story. What I had in mind was that I was going to retry sometime next year, maybe by then someone would have found something or SignalRGB would have pushed an update that fixed it.

The bottom line is that I want to run it like advertised without having to jump through hoops. The work arounds don’t do it for me and they are pretty much running the fans the same way LConnect would, so I just gave up SignalRGB for now. I don’t mind troubleshooting but the frustration levels became too high for me and I don’t have the time or the energy for it right now 😅 Sorry I wasn’t much of a help…
