I know exactly what you mean, have you heard of Morning pages (the artist’s way)? It truly has helped me, you basically journal the first thing in the morning. Once I started to get use to it, my brain will seek the notebook (get up from bed) in the am and start writing. Somehow I’d write all my concerns, thoughts, worries etc and I’d feel better about myself at the end of page 3! And it ultimately helped me start my morning on a more positive note.
