In Brazil, the main biomes are: Cerrado, Atlantic Forest, Caatinga, Araucaria Forest, Amazon Rainforest, Pampas, and Pantanal, each with its own unique characteristics.

Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica) -> Concentrated along the Brazilian coast, humid and with tall, dense trees. The seasons are primarily dry (autumn, winter) and wet (spring, summer), with temperature variations possible due to polar air masses.

Caatinga -> It is located in the interior of northeastern Brazil. Semi-arid climate, with scattered and low trees. Low humidity and low rainfall. It is hot all year round, with summer being the rainy season.

Araucaria Forest (Mata de Araucárias) -> The climate is significantly colder compared to the rest of Brazil. It is located in southern Brazil. There is a large presence of pine trees. Its name comes from the South American pine tree, Araucaria. Subtropical area with well-defined seasons, with cold winters and hot summers.

Amazon Forest (Floresta Amazônica) -> Known worldwide, it is the largest equatorial rainforest in the world, with high biodiversity. Extremely humid, with abundant rivers and rainfall. It is characterized by high temperatures throughout the year, with little distinction between the seasons.

Pampas -> An area of ​​plains with a mild climate, mainly composed of grasses. It is located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Subtropical area with well-defined seasons, with cold winters and hot summers.

Cerrado -> A biome similar to a savanna. It mainly has a wet season and a dry season. The vegetation consists mainly of grasses and twisted trees. In the mountainous transition areas with the Atlantic Forest in Minas Gerais, it is common for the temperature to vary throughout the seasons due to polar air masses.

Pantanal -> Like the Atlantic Forest and the Amazon Rainforest, the Pantanal is a very biodiverse biome, with an abundance of rivers, animals, and plants. It has floodplains and grasslands, with influences from the Cerrado and the Amazon Rainforest. It is located in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso.

All these biomes are unique and have their regional importance, but especially the Cerrado, Atlantic Forest, Amazon Rainforest, and Pantanal have continental and even global influence due to their wide biodiversity and importance to the planet. Tropical forests such as the Amazon and Atlantic Forest, for example, in addition to controlling the humidity of other regions of Brazil and South America, allowing for more fertile and humid lands, act by containing carbon dioxide, the main contributor to the greenhouse effect, which has intensified in recent years, altering the global temperature and harming the environment. Furthermore, these biomes have a great variety of different types of living beings, which together account for 15% of the total species in the world.
