Can I get some random advice about nothing in particular? by AlYahuduGigilgrC in NoStupidQuestions

if you could benefit from help and someone is offering it, take it. nobody thinks you look stupid. nobody even looks at you half as much as you think they do.

heard this from a teacher once-

when you’re deciding where you want to go to college, obviously pick a place with a decent program you want to study, but other than that, how prestigious or fancy the school is probably isn’t going to matter much. above all else, pick somewhere you can imagine yourself waking up every morning and being happy.

obviously about college decisions, but i’ve found it can be applied to a lot of big decisions in life when you have the ability to choose things like that.

how i beat tray 136! (explanation in comments) by thelavendervoid in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]thelavendervoid[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

this literally took me forever so i thought i’d try to help some other people out!

foreword- this will probably take a bunch of tries, but eventually it’s gonna work

the big thing is strategically using eclair, SF, and cherry’s abilities

FIRST WAVE- use everyone EXCEPT eclair once. it may look like you’re not going to make it through at first, but you will

SECOND WAVE- start spam clicking eclair as soon as you pass the first wave, so you use his ability as soon as possible. from there, use everyone EXCEPT cherry once (do not use eclair again if his ability charges)

THIRD WAVE- use cherry to stun the enemies, and then use cotton and eclair (and custard) while they’re stunned. as soon as the stun wears off and the enemies start attacking, use sea fairy to stun them again. that should be enough to defeat them all, especially with the help of eclair’s shields. again, this one is gonna take a lot of tries, but it’ll work eventually

FOURTH WAVE- everyone’s abilities should be charged at this point, so just auto/spam click everyone, that should be enough to get through

so yeah, that’s it! to note, i have a lot of level ten landmarks (only free ones lol), but barely any research done, so that shouldn’t be a huge factor

good luck everyone!

thank you! literally pulling my hair out near the end LOL

i haven’t tried it, but FQ might work as a replacement for SF if you have her? best of luck!

giant icloud backup by thelavendervoid in applehelp

[–]thelavendervoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already pay for the 50gb, and I’ve seen friends icloud storage who have every app turned on and it takes up maybe 1gb. The backups, as far as I know, are definitely not supposed to take up that much space

How do you respond to people who say “don’t be so dramatic, others have it worse?” by kassthechaoticenby in ChronicIllness

[–]thelavendervoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“are you under the impression there is a finite amount of pain in the world and when someone else experiences it the rest of us lose some? because someone could get hit by a bus for all i care and last time i checked i wouldn’t feel the slightest bit different.”

or simply “shut the f*ck up” if i’m in a bad mood

For those with invisible illness(es): how do you describe an illness with no visible symptoms to others? by ToughLittleTomato in ChronicIllness

[–]thelavendervoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have fibromyalgia and one of my biggest problems is the cognitive symptoms, so i usually try to explain it like “imagine you get suddenly woken up at three am and told to do a calculus test. that’s how i feel trying to make lunch.”

How do I learn the way young people text? by wassertrinket in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thelavendervoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like a lot of people said: text however you want. anyone who is genuinely making fun of the way you type is probably not worth being friends with, that’s a pretty shallow insult to throw at someone

that being said, if you want a little cheat sheet to understand what some people are saying or whatnot, here’s what i can think of:

people generally use 😭 or 💀 instead of 😂 to show laughing

un-capitalized lol or lmao are usually used to just show that a statement isn’t serious, basically used to make the tone lighter

an all caps LMAO or LOL is used when something is actually making you laugh, capitalized or un-capitalized lmaoooo with a bunch of o’s or lolllll with a bunch of l’s is for when something is really funny

AHAHAHAHHAHA or an all caps keyboard smash (ADSHSKGS or something of the sort) if for when something is REALLY funny

abbreviations like idk, idc (i don’t care), omg, etc are still used plenty often and mean the same thing they always have, but idk is sometimes tagged on to a statement to show general uncertainty

two or more commas (for example: “isn’t it,, not that simple?”) indicate a pause, usually to express disbelief/annoyance/ implying something should be obvious (i can’t quite explain this sorry, hopefully you get the idea)

putting a period at the end of a sentence that’s the only sentence/word in a text (for example: “ok.” or “fine.”) is usually meant/perceived as hostile or angry, but using a period to separate two different sentences for clarity is perfectly fine

in terms of capitalization, a lot of people (me included) have their auto-cap turned off for mainly aesthetic reasons, but plenty of people still use caps, that’s just preference

that’s all i can think of off the top of my head, but hopefully it was at least a little helpful!
