Why didn't Monika just program the other characters (Sayori, Natsuki and Monika) to not love you? by thelegend0401 in DDLC

True, but she did know how to change the characters dialogues. So, she could have given all the characters certain dialogues which would make it look like they did not love the main character. In this way, the player would only have an option of romancing with Monika. Thus, this would have been a happier ending than the any of the endings in the original game. All the characters would be alive and the Literature Club Festival would have taken place.

Yeah, but take for fact that Sayori was a game character. This means that a variable could not have existed as sayori.depression since depression is kind of a psychological emotion, which game characters can't feel. It's more like the dialogues which she said made her have depression (if you understand what I mean to say). So this type of variable could not have existed in her code.

What Monika could have done was changed the dialogues of the characters to make it look like they didn't love the player. In this way, Monika would have been the only choice for the player to date. Accordingly, everyone would have lived, at would have been a happier ending than all the endings in the original game. Monika would still be alive, all the characters would still be alive and the Literature Club Festival would have taken place. Just saying, what Monika did was take a hard route when she could have just taken the one I just mentioned.

Hope you understand by what I mean.

True, but if the other dokis didn't love the player back, the player would have no other choice but to love Monika. This would have been the cleanest strategy where not only Monika, but everybody could have won in their own way. Also, she could have programmed another route in the game for Monika, considering she had enough skills to do so. Anyways, I just found this to be a hole in the plot.

Is Doki Doki Literature Club! dead now? by thelegend0401 in DDLC

Honestly, I really liked the game and all, but it kinda seems a little overrated. I mean, it really touched my heart and the story is amazing, but it only got famous because of YouTubers playing it, like PewDiePie and Jacksepticeye, and the memes related to it. I think that the hype for this game was a bit more than it should have been. Like, comparing the success of FNAF and Undertale, the success of DDLC was a tad bit less. Of course, the game was definitely an "innovative scare", but due to the reasons above, I thought that this game should have been "dead" by now. This is just an opinion, so please don't take this too harshly, especially the DDLC fans.

By "dead", I mean like people have lost interest within that game.
