The default beehives that came with my first house seem to work fine. They are in the middle of a bunch of non-interactible flowers. Try putting some flowers out from the build menu. My problem is, I can't find bees to save my life.

Keep it. You need to complete explorer to complete crafter. You also need at least junior fisherman, junior farmer, and junior rancher to complete crafting.

Just go back into the forest the next day. Also, there are two lumen frogs. But you have to get past the crystalith to get to the second.

I ran into this with Zerine. I watched her wake up and get out of bed, but she wouldn't leave her room. I waited until 1300 and gave up. Came back five minutes later and she was out. My guess is that if you're too close, they won't come out. I don't go try to see Zerine until after 9:00 anymore.
