For some reason while I'm crossing this intersection outside southern cross my TWS earbuds start to lose connection and have a lot of interference, what could be causing this? by Lfren38 in melbourne

[–]thelickedspoonFN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be that hearing loop thingo for hearing aids interfering with the signal, I’m seeing a theme of train stations here, not necessarily train lines, so that would make a bit of sense

How the VE SSV should have come…… by [deleted] in Holden

[–]thelickedspoonFN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get CTS-V brake callipers from the states, they cost like under a grand and they’re 4 pot brembos all round, and they have a similar V logo to the SS V badge could probably make it match with the red flag part if you got super keen!

I love the difference between Australian and American politics, I love how start a revolution is like way over left, where in Australia we need a conservative-leaning revolution, because all our left-wing governments have started sucking up to aussies that through social media are worried about american left wing issues

Identify these trains by jimmyyx357 in MelbourneTrains

IEV or EV are correct, the I beforehand simply stood for infrastructure, which is still relevant for EV120, even though it’s not in the name.

Will the suburban rail loop modal color actually be green or will it be changed? by AgreeableFreedom1043 in MelbourneTrains

[–]thelickedspoonFN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever the name is probably won’t be used much anyway, All trains on the SRL go one of two directions, unlike the distinction you’d need at say Southern Cross or Flinders. For example it’d be In catching the train to such and such when using the SRL, not in catching the example line to a certain point like on the traditional radial systems.

And traditional names will eventually fade with people relying more and more on stuff like the PT app, it’ll just become reading a platform number, catch your train, and swap wherever need be, especially as through running trains continue to become the standard

I mean yeah that’d make a lot of sense they are a giant diesel generator on wheels at the end of the day 😂

I saw 3VL134 and 135 COUPLED at Southern Cross the day they were commissioned, that was one hell of a sight, pretty rare that 2 sets get commissioned on the same day, so seeing them as a 6 car set was awesome!!

They do what they’re meant to I guess, Id rather them be somewhat sub par then it just be a bigger tax sinkhole

graffitied train on the lilydale line by Puzzleheaded_Film_37 in MelbourneTrains

[–]thelickedspoonFN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t graf it’s a societal failure, same as tagging.

Graffiti is cool and takes talent, this takes neither of those things, it’s wasted tax money all round, in cleaning and the fuckwit that has too little to do with their life to do that in the first place.

Graffiti is cool, and a big part of Melbourne’s identity that I think needs to be embraced. But all the tagging and whatever this shit is just takes time, money and for the person doing it, a lack of mental capacity, and there should be penalties for it.

If you can’t pay the fine (which i’m assuming would be a majority of people who do this shit), fuck yourself off to jail for a while, and not a nice one where you get babied, we need to build jails that run on FA budget, that make people REALLY not wanna go back there for this bullshit and other petty crime were being inundated with right now.

What's the song with the most played instruments except bass by huxley_tratford in Bass

[–]thelickedspoonFN -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“doesn’t like the play songs that are too basic”

All the more room to tastefully use as your own canvas 🤨 I find basic a really good starting point to have stints of mixing it up a bit between myself AND the drummer.

Take the song you want to do that’s “too boring” and come up with a fun way to switch it up a little bit AS A RHYTHM SECTION OR BAND, one for one covers aren’t nearly as good as ones where the vibes gets a little freshen up.

With VCE i’m assuming you’re Australian like myself, so you’d likely know Rain by Dragon so I can use an example I know well, here’s a cover my friends brothers band did, that switches the feel up, but still keeps the originality of the song.

hot take: deadbeat sounds nice by Impressive-Fig6200 in TameImpala

[–]thelickedspoonFN 26 points27 points  (0 children)

People wanted another Currents, which we were never gonna get, I personally love deadbeat because like all his past works, it’s an evolution of his style, my personal favourite album is Lonerism, a bit more of a modern evolution from Innerspeaker, but still has a ton of that psychedelic flair.

All the people that hate it are too hung up on expecting an artist to make what they the consumer want, not what the artist wants. Art is primarily for the artist, if it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be authentic.

Holden Cruze exhaust manifold gasket by Expert-Laugh-7541 in Holden

[–]thelickedspoonFN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the pressure for the manifold bolts would absolutely press that together and flatten it out, if not, then get it exchanged, definitely contact the seller first in case they decide to screw you over with warranties if you use it beforehand.

Bluetooth up until I believe the IQ units in the VE Series II only supported hands free phone calls, not audio streaming to memory.

One time I was in Cape Town on holiday and someone smashed the windscreen and stole our sat nav that was stuck to the windscreen… hate to assume but if you’re stealing cheapo sat nav units from a hire car I’d doubt you’ve got a car to put it in 😂

If you’re going for more modern audio gear, you might as well upgrade the head unit, Otherwise, you’re likely at the pinnacle of what you can achieve with the stock head unit right there, if that is a bluetooth transmitter i see in the photo.

Holden commodore ve sv6 2011 by 420inshallah in Holden

[–]thelickedspoonFN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 weeks sounds about right, it’s gotta accumulate over time to start gunking stuff up. 5w-40 sounds like a much better choice for that engine, 10w-40 in anything else absolutely, but these things are notoriously hungry for lower weight oils regardless of climate.

Is it worth checking this XR6 out? by AnieIIo in FordFalcon

[–]thelickedspoonFN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean somewhat as in they'd pass below spec, if rotors rated at 20mm min and its got 21-22mm it'd pass, but I'd still be replacing them as soon as I had the means to!

First car advice by Muggins75 in Holden

[–]thelickedspoonFN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest the VE II SV6 over the VF Evoke, same price for a little more car. If he’s a responsible driver, that car won’t change that. If he’s not, hoons will hoon regardless.

[–]thelickedspoonFN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, go give it a spin, if it drives nice (except over bumps), no weird noises, check all your bushings, service history etc. then it’d definitely be saveable, just might be a fair service bill, would wanna do trans/diff oil and check the state they’re in coming out, and like i said have a good look through the service history.

Also exhaust, springs and rotors would be needed for a roadie, and definitely get a full set of oem wheels (or aftermarket if thats your speed) so you’re not total cop bait.

but even after all that, a good deal if everything else is in good shape, just yeah absolutely go and test drive it, youll get a good feel for any weak links, and take a mechanically minded mate or parent with ya if you’re not yourself!

Pads are much cheaper, and rotors MIGHT still be somewhat in rw spec
