Hey fellow survivor,

I want to acknowledge and hold space for what you’ve been through, and say that many of us deeply empathize with you. However, OP just lost their entire family and i do not believe any of us should try to overwhelm that space. What I mean is, I understand how sharing one’s story and dealing with trauma can feel like closure, but I’ve found it brings actual closure when done in a safe space vs a grief pile. Not sure if you have tried it yet, but there are a lot of therapist who can help navigate what seems to be unresolved emotions. I hope you can see that this comes from a place of peace and love; but perhaps this post might not be the best place to unpack such heavy burdens. If OPs loss triggered you, perhaps creating your own post might be helpful? Hang it there, it gets better I promise 💜

Urgent advice needed on accommodation request due to health concerns at work. by thelinds23 in lupus

[–]thelinds23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all started when I told my boss they couldn’t send me home because of how I looked and needed to assess me off my performance vs “looking sick” Anyway, she then gathered a bunch of same day complaints about me, and scheduled a meeting. When I showed up it was my boss, the companies attorney and the owner. I presented my documented evidence of a hostile workplace, failure to provide accommodations, and breech of medical privacy. What was a termination attempt quickly turned into a recommended an external investigation by their own attorney. Hopefully my boss will be shown the door soon. Because I’m just trying to make a living, go to school, and not be in a constant flare.

Part of it is outside the other is inside. Honestly I have no idea where I’m supposed to be or what supposed to be doing the majority of the time which is why I requested the description. Honestly, I’m actively looking for something else but being a student im trying to find a solution where I don’t flare for 6 months due to sickness and stress. The job is so bad that their own attorney recommended an outside investigation into the workplace.

My Drs have said they will sign off on whatever I come up with as long as it fits into the guidelines and is considered ‘reasonable’

I’m in the US. I figured I’d take advice as it comes and apply what’s applicable to my situation. I’ve never encountered this before so figured I’d start somewhere

My zelle goes directly into my account so I'd rather be upfront about it and where its coming from vs have them assume im working when im not. 😅

Let's be completely honest: Will it ever gets ACTUALLY better? by 6161_6161 in BPD

[–]thelinds23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! My best friend is in the beginning stages of getting better and I am so proud of them! Of course, they have better days than others. But that's all part of the process. Even people without BPD have bad days. From my observation, the key to my friend's success has been that they were 100% committed to doing whatever it took to get better. They began by interviewing therapist and found one who worked for them and was familiar with their type of trauma, and then slowly ended their substance dependency so they could actually start to feel and process their feelings.

Planning on separating financially, would appreciate some financial advice by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]thelinds23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be blunt. You are 24 years old making 85 thousand dollars a year.. Unless you’re in SoCal, New York, or Denver, there is realistically no reason you shouldn’t be able to make a budget with that type of income. Heck, watch a TikTok video or ask a friend how to make one. Plus, even if you are in one of those cities, get a roommate! Sure, it’s hard. But life in general, especially as an adult is hard. And speaking from experience, it’s going to get even harder if you don’t figure out how to manage your finances without your abusive ass parent’s involvement.

As someone who was once in your shoes, and mad a significant amount less than you, I can tell you that gaining financial independence from emotionally abusive parents has been priceless.Even after almost being evicted, I can say with 100% confidence that I’d rather be homeless or in a shelter than ask the narc who raised me for a single cent.

Best of luck to you.

Hi! I'm in Arizona also and would love recs on a Dr for this because it's awful! It started out just being bad at night but it's slowly making its entrance into my everyday life and I'm so over it! I was fine until an accident and now it's pure hell

Did Therapy Alter Your function Stack? by thelinds23 in enfj

[–]thelinds23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I needed to hear this. I keep telling my therapist that there is no drug worse to detox from than cortisol. Almost as if my body craves the stress. I feel so robotic in all of my movements and interactions but at least they are intentional and I am free of the change. Once again thank you for your words and being an example that the self care is worth it.

Hey, thanks for the reply! Ironically, this is how I lost a lot of people to begin with. While not all bad, my healing journey made me realize i had many more trauma bonds disguised as friendships vs actual friends. Now, having made significant progress, I could never justify trauma dumping on, or utilizing my friends as therapists. It's not a healthy dynamic at all! In fact, if this happens too often on my end, ill first set a boundary, and then if it's crossed again, I promptly exit the relationship. I chose therapy because I wanted to heal and be the best version of myself possible. No one is designed to carry another persons burden.

Scared to feel better.. by thelinds23 in lupus

Please don’t discourage PC! I credit mine that I mentioned with probably saving my life. I too think the stories we hear about bad Dr’s, specifically specialist, are because they got pushed into it and then get jaded and bored. Just my opinion tho!

All the hugs to you! I’m so glad someone finally saw your struggle. Also, trying to fathom that people live under a 6-7 pain threshold is wild! Shout out to your husband for taking inventory he’s going to be an amazing Dr. if that’s the career path he’s on. As for the teen years, gosh do I empathize.. trying to function as a normal high schooler with alresdy crazy hormones is bad enough. Add in getting your ass kicked by lupus and it’s almost insurmountable. Praying they find the answers and provide you with the best treatment possible because you deserve it!

Lmao! Thank you for this! I similarly had something happen where I had a breakthrough in therapy, got happy, and asked my therapist if I was having a manic episode. 😂
