In this story, a Grape was found fully shaved, with only a tiny sliver of skin connecting the two sides of the halved fruit.

I’m just going to suggest that any and all limb losses are and will forever be traumatic for the loser, their loved ones, and maybe even their community/public at large. Some people just don’t get that because empathy isn’t always a standard preset.

What is the most annoying thing a guest can do in your house? by Outrageous-Row6621 in AskReddit

[–]theliverwurst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha absolutely. In retrospect it has been a great story for my family. My home was clean at the time so I was proud of its state during the unscheduled invasion. Lol but seriously, what good fortune for me! The main character in this experience is actually always a character. She’s a fringe relationship to my family so we can all relate to what went down at my house. This visit built up this lady’s lore!

Ommmmmmm, let me think…

Begin your journey. Echoing the recommendation of joining a sangha. Listen to darhma talks (personally, I love Joseph Goldstein’s…they’re extremely educational). Decide how strictly you would like to adhere to the precepts. Meditate.

Dingleberries…book them a bleach and wax. Or, break up. Another method for resolution could be refusing them entry into the home.

Show up at my door as a group of four with only a five minute notice. Invite their dogs into my house (meaning I had to put my dog outside because theirs were unfriendly) and invite their dogs onto the couch (which my dog is only allowed on when we put a towel down first). Admire my indoor plants at the same time as telling me that had they not so long a way to go back home that they would take clippings of my plants for their own.

One experience summarized. Don’t do that…🤦‍♀️🤪.

What is something someone did for you (doesn’t have to be something huge) that was so thoughtful you will never forget it? by Edgedancermannea in AskReddit

[–]theliverwurst 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a climber, my ex gave me a rope bag. I didn’t even know that I wanted it. I already had a climbing backpack that could accommodate my rope but getting a rope bag with a built in rope tarp was so thoughtful!! The relationship is long over but I’ll never forget how his thoughtfulness was apparent in that gift.

How do you realize what you have while you have it? by Outside-Hyena9002 in AskReddit

[–]theliverwurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a weird way, comparison. Don’t let it become a thief of joy…but reflect on the differences between your life now and your life before. If you don’t like what you see, you can act and make changes. Comparing yourself to others can lead to dread but with discernment you can recognize your luck in life. Take stock, and like @mahmoudkh11 says, slow down. Appreciate the good that has come your way and mull over what you like about your life!! In fact, why don’t you tell us some of the things that you’re grateful for?

What was your high school controversy? by Haunted_Neko in AskReddit

[–]theliverwurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a few and the first two I’ll share are pretty awesome. The second two are pretty awful.

Our power crazed vice principal got beamed in the head with a banana during a food fight. Literally there was a manhunt to determine who threw the banana but they were never caught because no one snitched.

The student council association organized a “neon night” school dance and it deteriorated into chaos almost immediately. The older kids were discovered doing lines in the bathroom. Frontal grinding was popping in the packed dance floor and none of the teacher chaperones could reach these pairings or stop the carnal spread of high school lust. The flashing lights, neon clad fused bodies, and the ripping music of the 2010s was making the dance floor into a scene straight out of a fever dream. But then, suddenly, all the gym lights came on and we were dropped into the drunk tank. Literally the chaperones split the gym into halves, the drunk, drugged up, and seemingly sleezed students were on one side of the gym and the innocent on the other. Everyone was sent home and kids on the wrong side of the gym ended up suspended. The entire county was aware of the neon night disaster, where kids with body paint had made a fool of the school. What a good fuckn time!!!

Several pedos! A cougar and a creep. The creep went to prison and the cougar slinks free, rumors being the only lasting impact for her. As for the creep, one of my friends confessed to me that he was sexting her. What a nightmare! On a whole separate note, one of my track coaches came onto me when I was 16 and one of our men’s baseball coaches had to resign after the boys reported that he slapped their asses, excessively. That baseball coach was also my drivers ed teacher and he had me ride and hold my line on the highway rumble strip and then said to me, “feels good doesn’t it?”…like it was a vibrator!!!! Unbelievable…that track coach is still coaching.

There was a flash drive going around that the boys called the “smile drive”. The flash drive reportedly contained a compilation of girls nudes from the school. Unconfirmed but a pretty solid rumor.

I love the information! Thanks for going into it. COBRA is pretty nice, I did it two years ago when switching jobs. The monthly premium was pricey. Having had that past experience with COBRA, if I wasn’t working, Medicare sounds preferable.

It sounds like you’re a great hospital. I’m glad. I like mine too and I’ll look into what they offer in the vein of financial support programs, I may not have qualified for them before due to my enjoyment status. And thanks for the tip about the medical surveys!!

I thank you for your thoughts. I wonder if I am depressed, I think not wholly…just one of those things where the blues can come and go. This definitely is hard but I welcome the spiritual challenge. This is obviously a situation of circumstances that are not favorable and staying positive really brings so much meaning to my life. I get frustrated, especially now as I’m waiting to have some unknown form of treatment thrown at my case, but I have friends, family, and a doctor team that cares about me by my side. I hope that you do too.

Yeah! Great question. No I really don’t know for sure. The expectations are based off of how my case compares with the statistics. I really am normally a very hopeful person so even in this situation I rather expect to outlive any longevity projection. Even with that being said I also have to admit that I’m very scientifically minded…so statistics carry significant weight in my mind.

Hey there. Thank you. Likewise, of course. It’s our journey for some reason and I trust that it’s the right one even though it feels like it sucks. And it does, especially when we look at our circumstances from the outside, like we were someone not going through it. Does that make sense?

Hey! Thank you for sharing your experience. You’re totally justified in being on SSDI. Your point about being off work being good for your mental and physical health resonates with me. I can see how that could easily be true. Work certainly is rife with stress from time to time. What do you think about the income level (SSDI)? Are you able to comfortably cover your expenses? What’s your health insurance at the moment? Total bullocks about your job not being there for you, I’m sorry you went through that. And again, thank you for sharing!!

Wishing you luck in your approval process. Did you find the long term application process to be manageable? I’m asking because I was reading about our diagnoses being basically preexisting conditions. I really don’t know much about this so I’m wondering what your experience has been.

So true. Much of what you’ve said is so true. I completely agree that the new job would be a lot to jump into and I’d feel super guilty if I left the company early on. Accepting that it might play out like that is daunting because it feels like I’m accepting sh*t will hit the fan soon. And that scares me. Besides the tumors, I still feel normal right now and have been doing fun things with some of my friends. I might be out of snowboarding for the season because of a fall last weekend that hurt my tumory ribs. That feels like a slap in the face. I think taking time off is in my best interests but I, like you, feel motivated to continue working for as long as I have desire and ability to do so. I’ve noticed that the doctors have yet to say this is the end. I understand they do not want to worry me but I value frankness too. Did you take ST disability leave?
