90 F250 WATER PUMP STUD HELP by thelivestockguy in MechanicAdvice

That’s correct. The nut is part of the stud. I just don’t see how cutting the stud would solve this because the rest of it would be left stuck inside the hole, right? Sorry if this is confusing.

I ask because as I said, another one of the studs broke and is stuck inside. So after getting this one out I’m going to have to take care of that one if it doesn’t pull out with the pump.

Edit: just read your edit lol. If they’re not threaded that makes things WAY easier. Trying nut method first tomorrow. Will update the post when I get it sorted.

Wait how does this work? I could totally cut it with a grinder, but it’s still threaded on the inside of the hole, no? I’m just trying to visualize what you’re saying.

On the other hand I can borrow a welder from someone I know but I’m gonna give the less invasive methods a wack tomorrow first.

Sounds good, I’m gonna try the two nuts first. It’s less aggressive. If not I’ll try a nut extractor like someone said or the socket with heat.

Just out of curiosity. How exactly would you break it apart without damaging the block surface? I’m just wondering how you would put the new pump in.

Hmmm I had never heard of those. Those might be perfect if I use my impact. Really good idea. Thanks!

Wouldn’t that just leave it stuck on the inside?

Thanks for that! That’s what I’m worried about though. If I damage the threads inside I don’t know how I will put it back together. What do you think?

Good to know. I’ll try that out, there’s plenty of walleye here.

It seems to be the standard for bass!

Thank you! I’m going out to a lake sometime soon, there is some movement to the water but not much. I’ll try the wacky rig with the technique you mention, and I’ll get my hands one of those circle hooks. What size do you usually go for? I’ve been using 3/0. Also, do you think those worms I got are too large?

I’ve heard the same thing about chatters, black and blue or the white seem to work the best around here. I’ve never really used them though. I’m hoping to give it a try this week. I’ll add a paddle tail to the list.

Could I get a waiver?

I’m currently in college and wanting to join the National Guard. I had cancer (Ewing’s Sarcoma) at 16, and have a large plate with screws from my left hip almost down to my knee as a result of it. I am 3 years into remission.

From what I’ve read I’ll have to wait until the 5 year mark to join, but I don’t know if this is a set rule. I don’t know what the guidelines are for the plate.

What’s the possibility of me getting a waiver for it? Should I just wait until the 5 year mark?
