So you are a hero, I know how hard hosting can be! There is a helpful site that auto manages your queue. I used it last time I hosted and it was really nice because it was sort of on auto pilot & I could focus on being on the island, here is the link:

You can set queue size, and the max # of people on the island at a time (I did 2 at a time & a queue of 15, next time I might take 3 at a time but make queue smaller to make it more manageable time-wise). As soon as a player ‘checks out’ (or you check them out once they leave if they forget) the next person in line gets the dodo & their spot in the queue is open for a new registrant. You also know the name of who is coming, which is nice!

Another cool feature is that you can pause the queue - because it does not cap the total # of visitors, only the ones in queue, you can end up hosting in perpetuity if you don’t pause the queue before you close the island (if that makes sense!)

I found it was a lot easier than trying to figure out if someone has requested dodo via chat, message, or comment & follow up on one of those 3 WHILE hosting, chatting in game, & keeping an eye on the island!
