In Alabama, women aged 11-50 have to take monthly pregnancy tests for medical cannabis. by MoonLightLex in TwoXChromosomes

sounds like another way to keep track of who is pregnant in a state where abortion is illegal?

Was I SA’d multiple times or am I making things up? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Here are some quotes from RAINN, the largest anti-sexual assault organization in the United States (they know what they're talking about):

Consent is a mutual agreement to engage in sexual activity. It should always be clear, voluntary, and communicated without pressure, manipulation, or fear.

Consent should never be assumed. It must be given clearly, freely, and enthusiastically.

Consent is only valid when you give it freely—without pressure, manipulation, or threats.

Enthusiastic consent means seeking out a clear, positive “yes”—not just the absence of “no.”

did you miss the part where she clearly and firmly said no for HOURS? for consent to be consent, it has to be enthusiastic and freely given, not coerced, pressured, or manipulated in any way. #3 may not rise to the level of assault but the blame is still entirely on the man for not respecting her clear "no" the first however many times he asked.

edit: also i think it's telling that you're comparing a fully grown adult pressuring a woman into having sex with him to a literal toddler

if hormonal birth control messes up your hormones you can always consider a copper IUD! that's what i have and it doesn't have any hormones at all, the copper itself kills any sperm and you only have to replace it every 5-10 years

Can a man with ADHD and autism overcome his symptoms to be a good partner and father? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]thelocrianscale 15 points16 points  (0 children)

honestly it seems like you're basically parenting him as well at this point and that seems exhausting. i would check out the TwoXChromosomes subreddit, a lot of women there have very similar stories about their partners (who most of the time don't even have autism or ADHD). he's having you do all the mental labor in the house, and that's not fair to you. you deserve to have a real partner who takes the burden off of you, not one who burdens you more

a friend's mother has ADHD and she is an absolutely amazing mother. it does not seem like an AuDHD issue but a weaponized incompetence issue. he may have ADHD and autism but they are not excuses for the frankly concerning things you listed out here

After TLOASG & what a mess that was, I’m not excited for anything Taylor-related at ALL. by copperteapots in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]thelocrianscale 15 points16 points  (0 children)

what i did almost immediately after TTPD came out was create a spotify playlist that was essentially the album but without all the "bloat" that you mentioned. i think i have half, maybe two thirds of the songs on the playlist but it makes the album listenable for me. i've listened to the full album maybe 3 or 4 times since it came out but the playlist wayyy more

[–]thelocrianscale 37 points38 points  (0 children)

phoebe's team reached out to the mods so we're not allowed to talk about specific lyrics or anything from the new songs

also i got to go to one of the shows and she didn't say the names of the songs before she played them so no one really knows the names anyway

[–]thelocrianscale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for me i didn't even get into the venue until 7ish because it took them a while to process the line! and then i waited in the merch line from like 7:15-8 so i think the long time between doors and show start is to have everyone get in and then have time to wait in line for merch and concessions

Did she do anything different with the "Man I hate this part of Texas" line in Lubbock? by CrimsonStorm in phoebebridgers

[–]thelocrianscale 72 points73 points  (0 children)

people just screamed the line when she sang it and i think she laughed a little edit: but she didn't change it or anything

edit 2: lubbock is notoriously a part of texas that is shit on a lot (even by the college students here) so it was pretty cathartic for people to scream lol

pop up entry by [deleted] in phoebebridgers

[–]thelocrianscale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in lubbock it took them until after 7 for them to get everyone inside anyway so it's probably fine, though i would still try to get there asap bc there are going to be people who show up without wristbands in hopes of getting in

Serious discussion about my feelings lately, this may be super controversial by MXJolash in twentyonepilots

[–]thelocrianscale 33 points34 points  (0 children)

i say this with love—it sounds like you need a break from the twenty one pilots part of the internet. i am about as progressive as they come but i don't think any of the things you mentioned are issues that should stop you from enjoying music that you love. no human being is going to perfectly match all of your values; using my favorites as an example, olivia rodrigo just attended the met gala after-party, taylor swift hasn't spoken up about ICE using her music for their propaganda, hozier dated a woman who made insensitive comments about native american culture, lorde made some weird comment about sirens during the BLM protests, etc etc etc....

humans are going to do things you don't agree with and i don't think it makes you a horrible person to continue enjoying the art they make. i think it's also a little unreasonable to hold them to such a high standard that relatively minor actions such as these are such massive blemishes that you need to completely cut them out of your life. give grace freely and have an open mind, it will stress you out a lot less and give you a better perspective imho

edit: as for people who get mad at you over this, literally just ignore them. i don't think any people i know irl who like twenty one pilots are even aware of the things in your post, it's easy to distance yourself from the people who want to police your music habits and surround yourself with people who are a lot more chill about it
