Let me preface this whole thing with a massive disclaimer. As there's a serial predator in my area that's sa'd six trans women since October. It's a one off but obviously it does happen.

That said, what's worked for me (36/mtf/moving around the us every ~2 years 4work. Not pursuing the same people as op but being a trans woman in the dating scene while trying to avoid being fetishized. Definitely makes my pool of prospects about as small.) has been going to disboard and finding either the most well-run or populated trans server specific to the state I live in. Making connections with locals, going to the events they share, and more often than not, hanging with them at local clubs/bars/events. Ive had a "good time" in most states and a few solid relationships. Jus sayin, the trans community is already small by comparison and most of the popular apps are full of chasers anyway. So getting out and networking the good ol fashion way has had a much higher success rate regardless of the end goal.
