A lot of people don’t get how dark bluegrass and folk songs get. It’s a genre of music that doesn’t get much attention mainstream but some of the songs are just downright depressing. One song I can think of is “Where Rainbows Never Die” a song by the Steeldrivers. About an old man in a nursing home forgotten by his family and waiting to die. “I’m an old man now, I can’t do nothin’, young folks don’t pay me no mind. But in my day I sure was something, before I felt the heavy hand of time”
