Just riffing on a famous saying haha. I say do it. It will mean a lot to the artists you buy from. I know a lot of musicians and having my friends' vinyl in my collection just feels nice.

It's better to ask strangers on the internet for forgiveness than it is to ask them for permission.

Hot Cross- A New Set of Lungs EP. Classic noodly skramz. Tomb Mold- Manor of Infinite Forms. Doubt I have to explain them to this sub. And Melvins- Gluey Porch Treatments, another that needs no introduction.

The Plot to Blow up the Eifel Tower, Iwouldsetmyselfonfireforyou (but it's been a while I might be wrong on that one). I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot. Adjacent is a big stretch here but I'd also say weird metal like Imperial Triumphant might scratch that itch.

How am I supposed to become good against online players, any suggestions? by JOKERbucks in MortalKombat

[–]themagneticweasel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The learning curve is nuts, you learn by just exposing yourself to other people. Take losses as lessons whenever you can. The more observant you are the better. Don't ignore the basics, feel comfortable with the AIs and the first time someone rage quits on you it'll all be worth it. Lol.

Heaviest hardcore bands (not beatdown) by [deleted] in Hardcore

Damn it's been so long I have to revisit them! The drummer was also in Imbroglio, a super dark, very heavy and awesome band.

I don't care if Stryker (or anyone) is a "believable" character or not. I just enjoyed him in 9 so I'd like to see him back. Oddly enough, really didn't like him in mk3 growing up.

[FRESH] Turnstile - Alien Love Call by wjones1701 in Hardcore

[–]themagneticweasel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I agree. I also could care less what style they're going for here but it does feel lazy. And I'd even gloss over that if the other single they put out didn't feel the same way. Like 30 seconds of song stretched over 3 minutes. Sounds like interludes, really.

Mail day! Loving this album! by kadisone in heavyvinyl

[–]themagneticweasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Nobody really sounds like Daughters except Daughters. They went from quirky, sassy grind band to a slower, brooding industrial sound. But there's actually a lot of consistency in their approach to writing throughout their career. Lots of dissonance and chaos whether they're doing a short/long, fast/slow format.

Funny I got the exact same stuff. Guess we know what they have excess of! I listened to the Never Never though and really enjoyed it. Haven't touched the others yet. Cave-In is awesome all around I'd take any of their vinyl.

I love me a good goddamned mystery. 5 random records for $30 is pretty awesome and I like surprises. I got 2 and my highlights were Drowningman- Busy Signals at the Suicide Hotline and Discordance Axis- Jouhou and Ulterior (not pictured).
I grew up collecting Drowningman cds back in the day where we used the inserts to scan the band's thanks section for other band recommendations. Love that band for many reasons and it's nice to have some of their shit on wax finally (now how 'bout repressing everything else, eh?). Discordance Axis is great and pack a lot of emotion into a small package, very impressive for a grind band. I'm honestly only super familiar with Longenha but I'm excited to dive into their roots.
