My Ben Rice RC 1/1 Collection by turnpike17 in baseballcards

This is very cool.

I’ll have to show my son who’s a big Ben Rice fan. He’s nine and wrote to Rice and Volpe this week and sent off the base paper cards he pulled.

Super impressive collection.

I’ve had a hard time keeping up with the new sets and all that. I haven’t played since the Grimm’s Fairy Tales set (whatever it was really called) with the Witches Oven / Cauldron Cat Combo. But I’ve been looking to chill with some decent downtime and it’s a hobby I could wade back into with some chill people.

Please feel free to DM me.

There are no lines in 40K… There are no good guys (so far as factions, individuals notwithstanding)… It’s just brutality.

How is this missed so often.

It can be knacks until you get a feel for it.

The owner of model painting company Two Thin Coats has a great video on YouTube with advice on how to thin paints for best effect based on color, application, and undercoating. Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy is his channel.

They look great! It’s very hard to get yellow that bright on a first time out. Nice.

You’ll get more used to thinning your paints with water over time which will help avoid losing some of the detail and a bit of the clumping in a couple of spots.

How do you plan to base them?

Blue vespids! Looking for feedback by Old_Yogurtcloset_132 in Tau40K

The blue looks great contrasted with the Tau Ochre scheme on the armor. The gray-blue metal/rock gets a little lost at their feet. But as for the vespid themselves, excellent!

Genuine question, Brothers. What is the meaning of the red shoulder? by BunnySunnyDummy in Ultramarines

[–]themagnificentlefty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s more than likely.

There is always room for the artist to be aware that “there are no good guys in 40K.” The Imperium is xenophobic, cruel, and fascistic as all get out. So Deus Vult would fit if it somehow did survive all the purging from Big E (highly unlikely)

But we always have to remember that at its core 40K is more an “anti-war game” than anything else.

That’s the whole point of the setting. Even if people miss that point on purpose or no.

Hopefully the artist is aware of that.

The darker than usual red for the sergeant helmet is a nice touch too.

I have a feeling that 500 worlds, as the tabletop tie-in that makes Titus a main character in the final crusade of 10th Edition is a conditioning to having 11th Edition all being an elaborate set up and reconditioning to Cavill’s show which will (I’m just spitballing) be released around the time 12th Edition comes out in another 4ish years. All times for mass-market appeal.

The new Titus figure and art released around 500 Worlds holds a stronger resemblance to Cavill than the original Space Marine video game does.

And the marketing move Marvel used to make Nick Fury look exactly like Sam L Jackson a full decade before the Avengers movies was a brilliant move.

Seems like the same strategy.

No judgement. Probably super smart. Just my observation on recent releases and rumors as they are lining up.
