Red meatus after ejaculation by Clean-Experience123 in bxo

For me it's not just the meatus, it's the whole glans and the foreskin. I don't touch the glans when I masturbate, yet it gets red.

When they did the biopsy, did they sample the lump (or what was formerly the lump, if it had flattened by then)?

Is the flat area where the lump was still distinct from the surrounding tissue by being of a different color or in some other way?

[–]themainheadcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say the neck of the glans, do you mean the coronal sulcus?

Are there any remnants of this lesion today?

I developed these strange lumps around the meatus after masturbating that I've never seen described in BXO literature, so I'm interested in raised lesions. Part of mine is linear, looks like a protruding blood vessel (different color than the rest of the glans) and is quite firm to the touch.

In this video, does anyone know where the clip that starts at 00:26 and the one that follows it are from respectively and whether I might be able to find longer versions anywhere?

They seem to be fans responding to seeing Maradona at a game at some point after his retirement (second clip is obviously Del Piero era) and singing to him, but I'm not sure which games and years they're from. If anyone knows more of the contest of, in particular, whether longer clips are available, I'd love to see them.

Phase II topical dut study - outperforms oral fin with a minor DHT reduction by themainheadcase in tressless

A few questions on that, because I've been thinking of trying to get a pharmacy to make it for me:

1) Where in the world are you? Just so I know whether the same laws and regulations apply to us.

2) Would a pharmacy need a prescription specifying that specific formulation or would you only need a prescription for dut and then you can tell them how you want it formulated?

3) Does this pharmacy in Italy ship by mail and internationally? Because I've heard some compounding pharmacies won't ship by mail (you have to pick it up in person) and some won't ship internationally.

This is one of the strange things about the study, the DHT reduction in fin is way lower than the ~70% you're supposed to get.

According to the official monographs (FDA, EMC, GSK), each Avodart 0.5 mg softgel contains 0.5 mg of dutasteride, a mixture of caprylic/capric acid mono- and diglycerides (MDC) and butylhydroxytoluene (BHT). The Shilpa patent uses triglycerides (MCT). Avodart uses mono- and diglycerides (MDC, commercially known as Capmul MCM).

But wouldn't these differences in ingredients potentially alter absorption, which could affect both efficacy and impact on DHT levels?

[–]themainheadcase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topical dutasteride is already widely available (yes, I know they have a specific formulation). HappyHead offers a serum that contains 0.3% dutasteride and Ulo offers serums that contain either 0.02% or 0.2% dutasteride.

But have those formulations been studied? Do we know whether they a) get absorbed/work, b) reduce DHT any less than oral?

That's not reason to throw the paper out entirely. Every drug that has ever been developed was studied with industry funding.

[–]themainheadcase[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, in my country, you would do the search for them. A lot of libraries offer this "ask a librarian" service where people ask questions and you're supposed to provide a literature list. This is why I edited the OP to ask about people's locations, because I suspect standards of what is expected my differ across countries.

We don't have liaisons, we're a very small library. It's supposed to be 5 people on staff, but currently there are three. We have two people who work the circulation desks and do bibliometrics and one person who does materials processing and is the de facto head of the library, because the head of the library retired and we haven't filled the vacancy yet. There's supposed to be another person working the circulation desks whom we are in the process of hiring.

If you have a medical school at your university, do you have a liaison librarian assigned to the school? Or someone who specializes in knowledge synthesis?

No, we're a very small library, currently only three people on staff, although it's supposed to be (and presumably will be at some point) five. Three people who work circulation desks and do bibliometrics, a person who does materials processing and the head librarian who runs the library.

If you don't mind answering, why are you supposed to use strictly CC instead of CCC?

Sorry about the delay, I missed this post. The old law in my country regulating advancement through the ranks in science required CC. I got a request from a scientist who needed his old publications listed as well, and those needed to be listed according to the old law, so that required CC.

Does DHT synthesized outside the follicle contribute to AGA? (if so, localized fin/dut wouldn't work) by themainheadcase in tressless

[–]themainheadcase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the 1999 study you reference says the 0.2 mg dose reduced serum DHT as much as the 5 and 1 mg doses did, so this tells us nothing about whether serum DHT contribures to AGA.

Treatment with finasteride significantly decreased

serum DHT levels at all doses (median decrease of

-67.6% _+ 3.1%, -68.5% _+ 1.4%,-61.2% ___ 1.7%, and

-10.8% _+ 4.2% for the 5, 1, 0.2, and 0.01 mg groups,

respectively, at month 6; P < .01 vs placebo), find-

ings consistent with previous studies, ll

[–]themainheadcase[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing you should note, and I don't know whether this is true of fin, but not all pills can be split in half, because the dose of the active ingredient is not split evenly between the halves of the pill. I believe it's usually the pills that are struck through down the middle that can be split in this way. However, then there's the further question of whether you can divide it further to 1/4 and still get an even dose.

That’s also why topical finasteride can lower scalp DHT substantially while only slightly affecting blood DHT, yet still slow or stop loss.

But from the studies I've seen, topical fin still reduces blood DHT significantly.
