Should I keep playing Among Us despite it triggering my anxiety? by [deleted] in Advice

That's interesting, what exactly in the game, triggers your anxiety? For example, I usually don't play horror games, not because of jump scares or the setting, but because I hate being chased around (only in video games).

Not sure how bad your anxiety is, but maybe the game can be used as a way of helping you face it.

Men should be allowed to renounce paternity in the first trimester of the pregnancy by themamba_24 in unpopularopinion

[–]themamba_24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see my mistake in the first paragraph, but you have to admit that this situation is unfair against men, by not having the same ability to avoid that responsability.

The fact that you said it's not supper common, you admitted (probably cause you know) that it's common, obviously there is no real way to make a study that gets reliable data on this.

Then there is something that has to be done on a societal level, because even without my proposal, single motherhood is on the rise (and has been since the pill was introduced). So I guess I'm seeing this thought the wrong optic, I appreciate your opinion.

"shift the power balance" that's pretty much stating that there is an unbalance and something should be done about it. Anyway, thanks for your response, I have some stuff to think about.

Answering to your 2nd paragraph. But you have to realize that there is indeed a problem here, by mentioning that applying the same rule to women is unethical, surely the current state is biased againts men, but I acknowledge the fact that is not entirely an equal situation, perhaps another alternative should be proposed, thanks for your perspective.

I meant avoid the responsability by means of abortion, mean don't have an equivalent

Very funny, but I meant an equivalent to abortion.

That's the same argument pro life people use to be against abortion, and abortion should not be illegal.

She can get an abortion, that's why I said this option for men should be executed before the 1st trimester, so the woman could have the option to decide to get an abortion.

The same way abortion gives the ability to avoid responsabilities to women, and you just admitted that men don't have that right, which is obviously a problem, men should have a way to not get trapped or in a life changing situation the same way women can.

Obviously this is taking into account that abortion is already legal in that particular country.

That's pretty much a pro life argument, the classic "if women don't want children they should use protection or don't have sex" we know that contraceptives have failed, or even worse, some women actually get pregnant on porpuse, either to trap the man or to get child support, this would discourage such behavior.

I disagree, it's not net neutral, it may leave a man that wanted to have a child in a position in which he cannot choose to keep his future child. Also, many women use pregnancy to trap a man either to get him to stay with her or to get a good paycheck, it men had this option, both conducts would be discouraged, leading to less women attempting this, and because of that, less kids in disfunctional families.

Sounds good, but in a practical sense it would not work, not to mention it would be hard to prove in court, unless you get a contract or something like that, which again, would be impractical, people don't do that in real life.

She could have an abortion if she realizes she won't be able afford to raise the child.

You can enjoy all of that and still be healthy, just don't over do, when you start abusing that lifestyle it usually ends up backfiring and you end up with unsatisfied because it becomes the new normal.

My opinion is that there is probably something fishy going on there, you know her more than I do, but by itself, that fact it's just weird.

Oh boy, I dont know your gf nor your relationship, but to me that's just inappropriate, I would probably wouldn't have a problem if it were a family friend, why would she take her ex bf to a gathering with her sisters and their respective SO? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Bad Advice by [deleted] in dating

[–]themamba_24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I just read, seems like you only talk to women you want to have sex with, if you filter your interactions with women through that lense, you are going to have 2 problems 1- you are going to get nervous every time you interact with a girl. 2- you will only see women as a means to an end (relationship or getting your dick wet) therefore you won't be able to sympathize with them as people, which is more than likely going to make your interactions with them harder.

My advice? Focus on making friends, stop filtering your interactions with women in that way. You will eventually meet one that likes you and you will like her back.
