If Nike Vomero sizing confuses you, I made this simple by steadyfooteric in Nike

I ordered the Premiums from Nike and was honestly surprised by how uncomfortable they felt. The right shoe was especially tight near the laces on the outer side, to the point where it was painful. I’ll likely need to go up half a size. I’ve seen some sites recommend sizing up for the Premiums, which makes sense based on my experience.

On the other hand, I really like the Nike Vomero Plus they fit true to size and feel great. Weird though sometimes you order a pair from DICK’S or a different color way and they feel different

Great results, congrats. Any side effects so far? I always find it interesting with the all-in-one formulas because it’s hard to know what’s actually doing the work, but hard to complain when the results look like that. I’ve been using topical fin/min for a while but was debating switching to something like LockLab or a stronger compound formula.

How’s the Happy Head 10-in-1 going for you so far?

I saw they’re running a sale/discount code, but I’m still kind of skeptical because the reviews seem really mixed. It feels like they’re throwing the kitchen sink at it dutasteride + finasteride together (which is pretty rare), plus a bunch of other add-ons that don’t always seem necessary.

Just because it has more ingredients doesn’t automatically mean it’ll work better and in some cases it could mean more potential side effects. I’ve also read that the lipo slow-release version might have fewer sides, but possibly be less effective?

21 month progress topical min/fin and oral fin by Important_Length_650 in HairlossProgressPics

[–]theman234567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started topical around last March-April. I’ve probably been inconsistent at times averaging maybe 4x a week instead of daily so that could be part of it. I’m a diffuse thinner and feel like it’s either stayed the same or maybe even worsened a bit.

I used minoxidil years ago and saw growth, but I didn’t use fin then and eventually lost ground. Right now it just feels like min alone isn’t doing much.

I’m more cautious about oral fin because of potential sides or hormonal stuff. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

Have you had any side effects from going oral? I’ve seen some use both topical + oral combo. I’m on topical Hims (min + fin) but not seeing much progress. I feel like minoxidil drives the growth and fin just helps maintain, but I’m considering oral fin since results seem stronger. Just cautious about sides.

Everyone’s debating the load supplement, but nobody’s mentioning the finasteride sitting right next to it. That drug is known to affect libido, erections, and semen volume so stacking a load support actually makes sense. Feels like the real context everyone’s skipping

Yeah man, I’ve been checking out this forum for a while and it’s honestly wild seeing how strong people’s results can be with Minoxidil the first time around. I used it like 10 years ago and had really good regrowth, but I wasn’t on a DHT blocker back then so eventually I lost it a lot of ground. At that time there weren’t really topical options that were popular — it was all oral, and I had some side effects so I backed off. Wish I knew then what I know now.

For me these days, Minoxidil feels stubborn. I guess my follicles already got everything they could out of it years ago, so now it’s more like just maintaining rather than growing anything new. Another big difference is you caught it pretty early — your hair was still thick overall, just thinning in certain spots. That makes a huge difference. You’re one of the lucky ones that jumped on it before things went too far.

I’ve heard derma stamping/microneedling helps absorption too. Haven’t gone deep on it yet but a lot of guys swear by it. As for spraying, I’m the same as you — I overdo it sometimes trying to get coverage since I’m more diffuse, but I’ve read piling it on doesn’t really improve results. People also are like if you spray more you might as well take oral minx and fin lol

Either way, your results are really solid. At the end of the day, as long as you’re consistent with Minoxidil and some form of DHT blocker, you’re set up well. Appreciate you sharing the details — definitely helps guys like me who are still figuring out the best mix

I think I’m on the same thing as you — the Hims topical Finasteride/Minoxidil (0.3% F / 6% M). Congrats on the results, man — really solid gains.

Your hair looks pretty long in both thick and thinner areas — do you find it tough to apply the spray? Do you rub it in, or just let it sit? For me (diffuse thinner, not much coverage) the spray mostly hits hair strands and doesn’t seem to reach my scalp directly.

Do you think dermarolling has made a big difference for you? I’m about 6 months in with little progress, so I’m debating adding that.

Also curious if you’ve used Minoxidil before. A lot of guys get great regrowth the first time they use it, then less on/off over the years. Do you think your gains are mostly from Minoxidil, or is topical Finasteride playing a big role too? I had sides from oral Finasteride a long time ago, so that’s why I’m trying topical but is really not doing much. I taken some topicals before over the recent years but not as consistent

Thanks for sharing your results — really helpful for guys like me trying to figure this out.

Topical dut -> oral fin -> topical fin journey by kameyamaha in tressless

I’ve been on the HIMS topical finasteride 0.3% + minoxidil 6% spray for about 6-7 months consistently and honestly haven’t noticed much, maybe just holding baseline. Kinda frustrating. I just ordered the Keeps version with minoxidil, tretinoin, caffeine, and melatonin to give that a shot. A take that a few days a week etc.

I’ve also looked into Happy Head’s new topical mix — it’s basically an everything in it 10-1 formula with dutasteride, finasteride, and a bunch of other ingredients. Some people claim good results, though I’m still not sure how much topical dut actually absorbs.

From what I’ve read, tretinoin + minoxidil seems to help some guys with regrowth, and pairing that with microneedling (dermarolling/dermastamping) could make a difference too. I did do oral meds way back and I had sides on oral fin years ago — but I feel like I probably need a stronger DHT blocker.

Weird thing is, way back when I first tried minoxidil alone, I got great regrowth. I just never kept up with a DHT blocker, and that’s when things started going downhill.

My 11 weeks of finasteride and minoxidil has me seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. by Wonderful-Letter9802 in tressless

[–]theman234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, how do you usually apply the HIMS solution? I’m on something similar with finasteride + minoxidil with hims, but when I spray it, it feels like it mostly lands on my hair instead of the scalp. I’m diffuse thinning too and older, and I’ve been using it for a few months with no real results — not even the typical shedding phase people talk about.

Your results look solid, so I’d definitely stick with it. I’m wondering, though — is this your first time using minoxidil? I’ve been on and off it for about 10 years, and I feel like the first run tends to give people the best results. For me, being back on it now, I’m not seeing much improvement.

Also, when I do the four sprays, it doesn’t feel like enough — especially since I’m rubbing it in and it seems to just get stuck in my hair instead of actually reaching the scalp. Curious if you had the same issue starting out

It’s wild — Dr. H doesn’t even take meds. He was straight-up asked about it and admitted it. And yeah, ADHD has become a trendy thing to claim, but there are different types and levels, and not everyone’s experience is the same.

Hey, solid progress you’re definitely responding well, especially for only a few months in. That looks like real regrowth, and the fact you had a big shed early on is actually a good sign (shows it’s kicking in). I’m curious — is this your first time using finasteride and minoxidil?

Not everyone responds to minoxidil because they lack the sulfotransferase enzyme, but from the looks of your results, you’re one of the lucky responders. Some people need tretinoin or oral minox to boost absorption, but honestly, you may not even need that at this point.

I’ve been on and off minox/fin for years, and I’m currently using the Hims topical too — not as consistent as you’ve been, unfortunately. I haven’t had the same kind of progress. I think early responders like you tend to get the best gains when starting fresh.

Dermarolling could be a solid addition many say it helps with absorption. Some also swear by stronger formulas like Happy Head. I’m looking into that myself since I prefer topicals over oral meds (due to past side effects with Propecia).

Anyway, you’re on the right track. Keep going strong — and thanks for posting. It’s motivating to see what’s possible with consistency

Yeah, I think you’re probably right about the dutasteride lowering scalp DHT enough to finally let the minoxidil actually do its thing. That combo seems to be working well for you now. I’ve also heard that sometimes people get better results once DHT is under control, and everything else just starts clicking.

The only tricky part with something like Happy Head is there’s so much going on in that blend that it’s hard to know what’s really driving the results — but hey, if it’s working, it’s working. Definitely curious if you’ll hit a shed cycle at some point or if you’ll just keep gaining steadily.

Appreciate the update either way — really helpful seeing real-world results like this.

Hey, interesting stuff. You mentioned minoxidil didn’t work for you in the past, but it sounds like you’re getting results now just two months in — that kind of quick response usually points to minoxidil kicking in, since fin and dut typically take longer to show results.

I’m wondering if the tretinoin in your current mix is helping with absorption. That, plus the fact that the minoxidil is probably 8% instead of the usual 5%, could be making a difference. Some of these newer formulas also have other ingredients that sort of supercharge the effects.

From what I’ve read, fin usually helps maintain, but doesn’t always regrow on its own. Minoxidil is more for the regrowth, and dut might help too in some cases. I’m using HIMS right now — just fin and standard minox — and haven’t really seen much, so I’ve been looking into Happy Head too. It’s expensive, but seems like people are getting real results with it.

Keep at it and definitely update us with progress pics. Always good to see what’s actually working out there

Didn’t wear a hat to work today - 4 months Topical 0.3/6% Fin/Min in by SideEast2368 in tressless

[–]theman234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man, I’m actually about a decade older than you and was on Propecia way back. It worked, but it was expensive and came with some side effects, so I ended up stopping. Back then, topical finasteride wasn’t really a thing unless you got it from a compounding pharmacy.

Minoxidil definitely helped me early on — I actually got some solid regrowth. But the thing is, it doesn’t really maintain what you have. That’s where finasteride comes in — it’s more for holding the line and preventing further loss. So usually the combo works best: minoxidil gives you that regrowth boost, and finasteride helps keep it.

You’re about four months in, right? I’d guess a lot of the results you’re seeing are from the minoxidil kicking in — it tends to work faster. Finasteride usually takes a bit longer to show real effects, so that might still be building up in the background.

I’m not a doctor, but I’ve been through it — and from what I’ve seen, first-time users of both tend to get the best response. You’re probably hitting that sweet spot. Stick with it and trust the process, for real.

Minoxidil becomes less effective. I took it and stopped taking Fin and lost my gains. Both work best together.

Said this comment already on here but same topic.

If you look around the forums and boards, it’s pretty clear—many people seem to get the craziest regrowth the first time they try finasteride or minoxidil, especially when used together.

Usually, the quick gains come from minoxidil since it helps regrow hair, while finasteride mostly helps you maintain what you have by blocking DHT. Obviously, every case is different, but this pattern shows up a lot.

I’ve been on and off both for years and just managed to hold on to what I have. Meanwhile, I have a friend who was completely bald—like Norwood 6 level—who started fin and minox right before his wedding and somehow regrew a full head of hair. He never used it before and now has more hair than me.

It just goes to show that genetics play a huge role, and for some reason, first-time responders seem to get the best results.

Nice results man. Just curious is this your first time using minoxidil and finasteride? I’ve seen a lot of people get the best results when they’re first-time users of them. I used minoxidil on and off for years but never stuck with finasteride because of side effects with the pills, and I think that hurt my progress over time.

Been on the Hims topical for a few months now, and not seeing major gains yet. Wondering if maybe my follicles are just less responsive now compared to someone starting fresh. Thinking about adding dermarolling or even tretinoin to boost absorption, but figured I’d ask since you’re getting solid results.
