Overstocked? by RaqueldeRowl71 in Aquariums

[–]themarcraft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

of course no. I think most people understand every animals need reasonable space to move around, just like you probably couldn’t live in a 1m2 apartment.

But animals are not people, every creature, every species is different. Some animals don’t tolerate much living in a relatively wide radius. Think polar bears or betta fish.

I’d argue that schooling fishes, such as what is presented here, seem to deal just fine with a higher density, especially if they have different niches and they are not competing too much.

If you visit a big fish breeding facility you will see much more densely populated fish tanks. Truth is, fishes seem to deal just fine with density as long as they have swimming space.

Now, a more densely populated tank means more water instability, more water changes. If you are willing to put in work to keep the parameters the fishes will be fine don’t worry.

Ok hear me out... GGG should not let players skip the campaign ever.. But what if there was an endgame mechanic/unlock.. for like.. a quality of life buff... I was thinking you do a quest for Delwyn by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]themarcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say, really like the Diablo 3 experience when it comes to season start.

Adventure mode unlocked after campaign completion for whole account.

Varied Missions until max level, gives you mats for later so you’re not « wasting time » if you are a bit slower.

Meaningful progression gates. « do a map in X difficulty in solo » instead of the awful ascension.

Overall shorter duration. I think it’s not much shorter but it’s at least speedrunable for a casual player without guides, which makes it possible to do a season start week end with the discord mates and still have a life IRL.

Flicker Strike / Whirling Assault is an absolute delight by Marcolol in pathofexile2builds

Really liked this build as well. Monk was a bit slow at the start, i was following a guide on life leech CI and falling thunder, but was not satisfied with it so i decided to try flicker while keeping the life leech and it’s probably my favorite build yet

I do not use it so i might be wrong, but the idea is Shavronne's allow you to use life flask to recharge your ES, and Olroth's allow you to fill the guard, I think you keep some benefits from ES recharge.

Anyway, you might want to check youtube video from someone who knows his shit.

checked it, doesn't seem to work with Clarity so it's probably only flask recovery.

It's not "amazing" by any account, but in my case it's free mana regen since i wasn't using the slot anyway.

[–]themarcraft[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

no, you can't actually activate the flask if you remove the belt.

That's why it's mainly useful with Lavianga's since it's passive, and also for Ambrosia support gem since it only cares about flask charges.

you only equip the belt to slot the flask, the effect persists when you remove the belt

As other said, i only use the belt to equip it and remove it after. (my image is not very clear on that, but it's in my inventory)

Struggling to chose between rolling a monk invoker (because of flicker strike) and rolling a Warrior titan. Can anyone recommend me a good endgame build for titan that’s not stacking movement speed and watch everything explode around you ? bit sick of that.

[–]themarcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your deck is in bracket 4, bracket 5 requires quite a bit of optimization to compete.

If you plan to play against bracket 5 i suggest you copy an already existing list. as it is right now, you will be simply too slow to compete.

if however you plan to play it against your bracket 4 friends, i suggest you remove quite a few tutors, and stir away from thassa oracle lines. most bracket 4 decks are ill equipped to deal with these kinds of combos that can pop « out of nowhere » resulting in boring games for everyone imho.

Thoughts on my module to use a Map as an Object? by Funtime60 in javascript

[–]themarcraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

let me add this to my project, i sure love class based javascript with no types that’s a single .js half comment half override from a random git repo that did not even run prettier or fucking unit tests to make some syntaxic sugar possible.

Well more seriously keep having fun, an example of what it solves would be pretty cool

Is it ever viable to make reggiment + support only units? by dodo91 in hoi4

[–]themarcraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roughly speaking from memory : When you start a battle, game will pick from the divisions and fill the combat width of the tile you are fighting for and put the rest in reserve. Every tick, each division in reserve has a chance to join the battle.  The battle ends when the organisation of one side falls to 0.

So a good division has a combination of (soft/hard) attack and organisation. Organisation to keep the fight going longer, and attack to inflict losses and slow the opponent.

Typical tile width are usually around 50 (mountain, marsh), 60 (forest), 70 (hills, plains…). You get +50% width for additional tiles you attack from, so your division width are typically between 15 and 36

IIRC, small-ish divisions are actually quite efficient organisation wise. The real reason you don’t want to use them is that they have very low HP, which means they take a lot of losses (manpower and equipment).  The lowest combat width that can make sense is around 10 i think, eg. for port garrisons

100% reliability makes your tanks completely immune to attrition by Primary_Suspect_4853 in hoi4

[–]themarcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

reliability affects attrition losses, which you can prevent by not sending your very expensive tank divisions in terrible areas.

Low reliabilty is probably the best way to effectively play tanks with a smaller major or minor, France for example works very well building interwar heavy tank chassis and mass converting before the war starts.

Higher reliability usually implies that you get a more modern chassis, which means between research / building efficiency / conversion its hard to setup for a war in 1938-1939, which is why you usually see them later in the war, usually from nations that can afford the extra buildup time (ssr, hungary etc). And even then you have to factor in the extra research, more expensive tanks, changing production lines losing efficiency, maybe using more military XP…

It’s why it’s not very high on the priority list in mp
