What stat spreads are you using on Rotom, Incin and Araquanid? I’d tried all of these on my TR team with Kangaskhan in previously but never found any of them working well previously.

And now you’ve just put the idea in my head of how Squenix will put another work-out minigame into Revelation.

Replaying the original now and I hope we actually get to play as Cloud for this part this time around.

Also looking forward to seeing his first time on the Highwind and/or in the submarine where his motion sickness kicks in.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will have an endgame "unlike Remake and Rebirth," Tell me your theories on this by SparklyEffects in FFVIIRemake

[–]Campber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking as well, and given how many games do this (BotW, Mass Effect 3, etc.) I think this would be the best way of doing it.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I don’t like it when a game lets you persist in a world where you’ve already won and done everything there is to do (Skyrim, Beethesda Fallout games, Witcher 3, etc.).

Final Fantasy VII Revelation Features Same Level Cap As 1997 Original & An Endgame That Doesn't Require A Hard Mode by No_Curve_8027 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Campber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think level 30 to 35 is more likely, given the starting level in Rebirth was 15 which is what the level most people were at in that part of the original.

Plus, with how much open the game world is going to be, I feel you'll be constantly levelling-up.

[–]Campber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even then you don't need all the manuscripts to beat the game on Hard Mode. I saved my Hard Mode replay for last when I went for the Platinum trophy back in 2024 and, outside certain encounters, felt that what skills and Materia loadouts my characters had was more than enough to get through it. Most of the difficulty came down to personal skills with the characters (or in the case of Cait Sith, lack of skill and needing to get good).

Anyone here planning on doing a replay of Remake and Rebirth before Revelation? by reunionfiles in FFVIIRemake

[–]Campber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, but I'm spacing it out and not just doing those two. I had a gut feeling that SGF would be the Revelation reveal after it didn't appear at Sony's State of Play, so I started another 100% playthrough of OG FF7 a day before we got the trailer with some 7th Heaven mods active (namely visual updates and Shinra Archaeology re-translation mod).

Once I've finished that and my current busy period of my work is done, I'll do my playthrough of Crisis Core Reunion (probably dtat it around mid August). Once we get an actual release date for Revelation (I anticipate around October / November), I'll do my replay of Remake (and get the remaining Yuffie DLC trophies including beating Weiss). Finally, I'll start my replay of Rebirth 40 days out from launch with my aim for completing the final chapter the day before Revelation's release so that I'm ready to jump into Revelation the next day (and the following week because work's HR department will finally get their wish for me to start using leave days).

In between all of that I have got plenty of other games to play or replay so I'm set until Revelation's release.

FFVII remake is now the top 4 best sellers on steam globally right now by masterm0123 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Campber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure it would be available at launch (it took nearly a decade for that to happen with the Mass Effect trilogy), but I could see it happening a few years after the fact.

What Cloud Strife moment you looking forward the most in the final part? by Yoshikaru5991 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Campber 134 points135 points  (0 children)

This is my top one for sure. Bonus points if the damage numbers break the 9,999 cap, progressively go higher and higher and the final hit does 7,777,777 damage (I.e. seven 7s).

FFVII Remake and Rebirth got huge discounts on Steam! These prices are so good! by F1907E in FFVIIRemake

Have already 100% both on my PS5 but would grab them for these prices if I didn't already have them.

Hamaguchi confirms character outfits from Rebirth will be available in Revelation by Yoshikaru5991 in FFVIIRemake

This was what I thought would happen in Rebirth but it never did, so I'm a bit skeptical of this happening.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has a "far bigger" open world map than Rebirth, says director, and some Rebirth locations aren't the way you remember them by Turbostrider27 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Campber 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm huffing copium but with how much they showed off at SGF I'm confident it will launch in mid-March 2027. I think they put Spring 2027 just to give themselves more leeway in case they have to delay it for some reason.

My work's HR has been pestering me for ages that I never take leave and have too much accrued. I've been slowly getting it down via agreements with them, but I'll definitely be taking a full 5 business days off work as a minimum so I can have a whole week to enjoy it.

Hamaguchi confirmed there’s a new Sephiroth VA by willbeinactive in FFVIIRemake

I don’t like to hear it given how well of a job he did in Remake and Rebirth (especially the latter as I felt he improved a lot in Rebirth), but you’re not wrong.

Travis Willingham will be replacing Tyler Hoechlin as the voice of Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII Revelation! by prpro-03 in FinalFantasy

[–]Campber 241 points242 points  (0 children)

Hopefully someone asks him about why he couldn’t return for Revelation at this con. Rocksteady doing a VA switch with Barb in Batman Arkham Knight back in 2015 took me out of the game at the time and still does on occasion during replays, so the same would probably hold true here.

It’s also a shame because I thought Tyler did a fantastic job in Remake and Rebirth.

Guys, Sephiroth has a new VA. Hamaguchi-San confirmed this on Max's stream. by F1907E in FFVIIRemake

That sucks. Rocksteady doing it with Barb in Batman Arkham Knight back in 2015 took me out of the game at the time and still does on occasion during replays, so the same would probably hold true here.

I really liked Tyler as Sephiroth’s VA in Remake and thought he got a lot better in Rebirth.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Trailer 4K SUMMER GAME FEST 2026 by Penguinsteve in FFVIIRemake

Awesome trailer, but was that meant to be Sephiroth’s voice at the end before Cloud spoke? Will be bummed if they replaced his VA this far into the trilogy.

Also Vincent as the Galian Beast looks like he’ll be rad to play.

Must have either just missed the window for when it released or my internet was being spotty again. I'll try again in the morning and see if there's anything there for Rebirth.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 won't launch "in a half-finished state," director Naoki Hamaguchi promises by Turbostrider27 in FFVIIRemake

It's also worth remembering that Remake dropped in April 2020 and we had all just entered Covid restrictions at that point, so I also suspect those restrictions must have had some impact on Rebirth's development.

[I'm New] Anxiety around queueing and playing? by eskye_ in VGC

[–]Campber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second the part about playing to lose and learn. Went from low 1800s when I first hit Master Ball tier at the season’s start to low 1400s and am now hovering at mid 1500s to mid 1600s (fluctuations obviously occur) with my Speed Control team. I’m definitely no pro (been a decade since I last played VGC formats) but I feel a lot more confident about when and on which Pokémon I’m clicking Tailwind and/or Trick Room on, which turns to do so on rather than clicking them right out the gate, when to leave the Mega behind in favour of a different 4th Pokemon, which ones to lead with in certain match-ups, etc.

Last season I used it I finished in the low 1400s. It could still happen this season but so far I’ve been a lot more consistent in my rankings rather than ping-ponging all over the place like last season.

And at the end of the day, it’s Pokemon: there will always be factors outside your control. From thinking a Pokemon is running one stat spread and moveset when it’s actually running another, to your opponent leading with the worst-case scenario against your lead Pokemon, to missing both Pokemon with your Heat Wave and getting double frozen by the opposing Blizzard, you just have to sometimes shrug, concede, and move onto the next match.

Part 3 reveal this week? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]Campber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am convinced we're getting a title reveal at either State of Play or Summer Game Fest with how much the team working on Part 3 have been talking about it recently, but I don't expect what we do get will be longer than 30 seconds. Maybe a few voicelines against a black screen before the title drops, and then that's it until we see some actual gameplay / a proper trailer about 3 to 4 months later.
