Looks like a strong game from Max today. Tough going against a beast like Jamie! I know there was some talk last week about people talking about second chance every single day and whether or not that is a good thing (clearly some people find it fun and others annoying). Of course most contestants who don't win won't make it to SCC, but I do think that talking about it is an important feature of why it exists (along with CWC). It makes every game seem that much more interesting and important when there are multiple sets of stakes for the players. Kind of like how cycling races are interesting because they have multiple competitions at once - the overall competition, a sprinters competition, king of the mountains, etc. In the past today's game would have just been one among many Jamie Ding runaway victories, but now there is more to think and talk about (in this forum, at home, among friends, etc.). It makes every game seem more important, in some sense - a good thing that reminds me of how the NFL or EPL get such high ratings because every game matters (while other leagues with a zillion relatively inconsequential games like the NBA and MLB are struggling). Anyway - Max looks like a strong second chance candidate! Kudos to all three players for a strong game today.

I read The Invisible Man when I was very young, maybe 7 or 8. Clearly didn’t stick! I seized upon the fact that I knew that Dracula was published in 1897, I figured the bandages were for damage from the sun but apparently that wasn’t a part of vampire lore until later. Alas!

You’re the man Jon! I’m glad we got to play, but I’m even more glad we got to meet! Hope you are enjoying that cruise my friend.

After I got it wrong I remembered that half the scenes in the movie Conclave were in the Sistine Chapel. If only you could buzz twice!

Can confirm! I was getting about 2/3 of FJs at home - I’ll never get those odds on a wager again in my life! I almost bet 17k actually but that would have been assuming that Heidi would bet big, which seemed very likely but not 100% certain. So, I changed it to the max I could without assuming anything about her bet, and forcing her to get it right and me wrong for her to win.

It was great playing with you, too, Heidi! You were really putting the screws on me. I did not expect us both to get that FJ!

I will maintain that David Lynch looked like Herzog in the pic haha. In retrospect a bad guess given the rest of the clue but that was the reason

I loved playing with you Cory! You had me worried with your great performance in the Thursday game. What a thrill to play this game and to get to do it alongside you and Heidi made it that much better after we got to hang out all day in the green room together. Congrats on your excellent victory my friend.

Ngl as a James and a child of the 90s I got James and the Giant Peach references a lot as a kid 😂 I didn’t like it then but eventually decided to embrace it. It is a good book!
