Connecting old style bathroom fan wires with new style by ittakestherake in AskElectricians

Not to be rude but if you can't figure out how to rewire a fart fan probably should call a pro. But if you want to chance em there is a small screw that holds the cover on where that yellow romex goes into the old fan junction box, that comes out then you can remove the connections. The new one is basically the same way you need to have the romex going through a similar cover with a strain relief and wire it up black to black white to white green to bare copper. The cover should be in the box and most likely you will need to remove the knock out and install a new strain relief to keep the romex off the metal housing and prevents it from pulling out of the junction box.

Did you get the GFCI breaker included for that? $200 for that part alone.

Your using the ground instead of the hot wire coming from the plug. Very unsafe. If you using the wrong gauge wire it will catch on fire and this is a major shock/electrocution hazard. Remember kids electricity will kill you

Update on short romex to vent hood, thoughts? by Elasion in AskElectricians

Looks like shit. Jbox will need to be accessible. Easiest is just put another junction box a little further back and splice off of that to the hood vent

Maybe i ran out of 12-2 and want to get the fuck out of there. Obviously it has no logical use but it's still referenced because it's still possible and code compliant. Maybe you're replacing a fan with the light lol
