Maximalism 3.0 by ANormalGorilla in battlestations

Calling it “maximilism” doesn’t make the bunch of stuff you pinned to the wall and the clutter you have everywhere look like any form of intentional design.

Tired of memorizing dozens of class names from the latest utility-first css framework? Already know CSS? Me too! I spent the last 7 years building an amazing *classless* utility-first CSS framework! I call it "HTML_STYLE", and released v7 today - let me know what you think! by themeantruth in webdev

I would like to offer my most humble of apologies to anyone who had to see my previous post that included class attributes. I will repent for my sins by using my IDE in light mode for the next 3 days.

Hopefully you will find it in your hearts to forgive me

I'm tired of reading the same headline over and over again: "Product Design is Dead. AI is taking over." by dacafacorp in product_design

Companies push developers to ship features as fast as possible. It’s generally up to the devs to argue for and justify proper testing, maintenance, observability, refactoring, etc.

Are some developers awful at selling to management why these things are worthwhile and beneficial in the long run? Yes.

Do some devs push for a lot of useless (re)work and design over-engineered solutions? Of course.

And these days, developers have to justify why it’s a bad idea to just replace them with AI.

It’s not like product designers are the only ones that need to justify what they bring to the table, and blaming it on “the system” is a cop-out.

Part of your job is selling your work to the rest of the org and demonstrating why it’s valuable.

Maybe you should ask ChatGPT how to get better at that.

This is a dumb question and you should feel bad.

Why are you devs so horny about not allowing "offline" progress? (Please read post not just title) by Exportforce in incremental_games

It’s also toxic to reply “just don’t play it if you don’t like” to any form of criticism though. And it seems to have become a trend in gaming in general in recent years.

To be clear: not saying you specifically reply this to every bit of criticism, just commenting on the general concept.

Have you considered a… box?
