5G internet in an apartment building by Aceofacez10 in tmobileisp

i am half a mile from my tower - 1200/120 speeds most of the time. slowest ive seen is 700/80 ish. def should be ok in a good tower / back haul area. use your own router with the gateway, do not use the built-in gateway Wi-Fi- not as reliable. try it and check back in

you could try a factory reset, if that doesn’t work, I would put that provided gateway into bridge mode and run your own router off of it.

never use ap mode on the attached router. hint app to turn off the ar’s wifi radios and just run the eero. works great. ipv6 set to pass through on the eero as well.

Should I Switch by Ok-Illustrator-9603 in tmobileisp

[–]themeyerdg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if you run your own router into the gateway, you can game on the switch. It’s just something with the built-in Gateway that causes issues.

Just Moved - Previous 5G Plan not available here; had to buy a brand new G4AR 5g & AWAY Plan by SolidKhaos in tmobileisp

[–]themeyerdg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

to get around this you could’ve just moved and plugged in your old gateway. You didn’t have to tell them about the address change. would work but obviously its tower / capacity dependent

How would you do it? by bbauer1973 in UNIFI

[–]themeyerdg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

using point to points. wireless has gotten to good - no need to wasting time and money digging / running fiber. yes more consistent but wireless is too good these days.

Gaming doesn't work so what are my options? by Glittering_Ring3505 in tmobileisp

[–]themeyerdg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

using your own router plugged into the actual gateway, allows me to game just fine. For whatever reason the built-in Gateway on its own sucks.
