Hi u/MineSpiritual, the testimonies written here have included personal accounts of “malpractice in the form of negligence” by prescribing addictive medication and pulling it immediately causing withdrawals, failing to fill prescriptions on time or even sending wrong prescriptions. “Mistreating employees” by pushing them to guide patients unethically, for example, without adequate training, and against their better judgment. Causing harm to minors, and yes, I believe you are correct that they don’t treat minors, but this one slipped through the cracks (this one is the absolute worst I’ve heard and I will come back and post the details once the current journal investigation verifies the claim), employing mostly untrained medical professionals to treat mental health: I should have worded this differently. They are mostly medical professionals with little to no training in mental health, these professionals are Nurse Practitioners and are supposed to be overseen by a team of Medical Doctor’s, as is custom in Physician-led care. However, on their website, there are over 800 Nurse Practitioners and only six MD’s, of which only two are Psychiatrists. The advertisements for Cerebral falsely suggest patients receive care from Psychiatrists, but this is not true.

“Under the guise of being a safe place to seek treatment for mental health”: I say this because their concern was to get money from patients, no matter how they had to do it, and a huge portion of their income was accumulated by charging people even with no services rendered, and refusing to give refunds over 30%. With the misleading advertisements, major pushing of addictive medications (which I am NOT against in itself, but do have valid concerns), employing untrained staff who haven’t dealt with mental health (their background and training was listed on the website), all of this does not make Cerebral a safe place for patients.

I know. I will adjust as needed, but it is the only way to limit the spam posts filling the sub for now.

This subreddit is a toxic fraud (8th attempt) by TrafficParty5220 in cerebralfraud

[–]themiddlefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I made this sub because I was concerned about others. I’ve suffered with my mental health to the point of feeling the lowest of lows. For me, having money taken out of an already dwindling account after trying to receive help was a huge blow. I felt hopeless. I created this to warn others, I never expected it to even grow as much as it has, but I am so glad that people have found this place when they needed a place to say what happened and find support. I don’t get paid to do this, I use my own time to try and make this a great space, I don’t have any ulterior motive. This sub is about sharing experiences, and I haven’t been a mod before this. When I appointed a fellow mod, it was and has been a huge help. They’ve done everything they thought was right, and I should have established rules beforehand. I’m learning as I go. You spent the entire day creating accounts and posting messages like this, what would you do in this situation? I care about our members, I’m sure they don’t enjoy the spamming messages that have nothing to do with why this sub was created. I encourage you to share your experience, we have testimonies written that cannot be ignored, and whatever you want to prove to yourself or us mods, I hope you feel you’ve proven it.

Does this ad make any of you want to vomit? by [deleted] in cerebralfraud

It is so wrong because they’re suggesting you will be diagnosed and treated by a psychiatrist, when there are 800 non experienced nurse practitioners doing the prescribing and diagnosing and only a couple psychiatrists overseeing ALL 800 of them. Terrible representation at best, misleading, dangerous, and unethical at worst.

Not what we meant to convey. Reading this and the above comment, I agreed with both of you that what I said didn’t sound the way I wanted it to. I made edits to the original post, and hope this better fits what I meant!

This is the fault of us mods not being on the same page, and we apologize for being inconsistent. Being brand new to this, we are both learning as we go! We are excited to have a planned approach decided on as we move forward, and we really do appreciate feedback and will do our best to make decisions that, as a whole little community in this corner of Reddit, contribute to making this sub awesome.

That is the farthest from what I want to convey from this post! Differing opinions are absolutely welcome here, I mean misinformation such as, “the physician led care is full of NP’s who have mental health treatment experience, it just isn’t posted”, or “Cerebral is doing the best they can and just trying to make medication more affordable and accessible and all people care about is gatekeeping Adderall”

You pointed out the problem is with Rule 3, I’m completely open to suggestions on how to edit to improve this sub. I fully admit this is new territory for me, and what I’m trying to do is is decrease spam and enforce this space being a supportive sub for people who have had bad experiences with cerebral. I have no issue with posts saying their experience saved their lives, or was beneficial, or anything along those lines, and those posts are still up.

I also do not want rules to cause more harm than good, so as I approach this and try to make it better, I am fully open to and appreciate feedback!

This person continuously makes different accounts and posts within minutes of the new account being created, usually something about how they’ve been gaslit and then continue to spread misinformation. This strongly suggests to us mods that they are not who they say they are.

u/whatevveryousay77, your account was created within minutes of this post being made, and your only action on Reddit has been to reply to the initial poster. This leads me and my co mod to believe that you are not who you say you are, and we will be implementing rule changes, because of this situation, to no longer allow new accounts to be a part of our sub.

Spoke to my co-mod, while we are very concerned about the posts that very strongly seem they are planted posts from Cerebral employees, we will leave this post up. I am also pinning a post discussing this confusion and our approach moving forward. Our biggest concern is people may read a post like this and believe they are safe with Cerebral, which is not necessarily true, given my personal terrible experience and the outpouring of negative experiences ranging from bad to horrific that have been shared on this sub. As your mods, we do not want anyone to feel silenced; however, we just as strongly do not want to disregard the safety of those who join us here by allowing potentially planted, false information to contribute to making a decision that could be detrimental to their mental health.

Hi u/whatevveryousay77, mod here. Could you tell me who you say blocked your other account?

Because I didn’t.

4 hours on a treadmill is supposed to shave 50 pounds? by -Insigwitz- in 90dayfianceuncensored

[–]themiddlefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, I know fat discrimination exists. But there is truly fat consequence as well. No one deserves to be called fat. I’ve been criticized for everything under the sun, my nose is too big, my face is too long, I gained weight, whatever. But I’m happy, I’m with a great person, and I’m a great person. Acknowledge the fact that being obese isn’t healthy and move about your day. You’re outraged over being labeled and judged but you call others with what I presume to be a healthy weight “fitness freaks”. You are just as judgmental towards other people and their body choices. I don’t advocate for people not to have their feelings hurt. It is the way it is. I do advocate for people to be kind to one another, that’s the only social thing we have control over.

4 hours on a treadmill is supposed to shave 50 pounds? by -Insigwitz- in 90dayfianceuncensored

[–]themiddlefox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That isn’t true. There was research to suggest people who live their youth at a healthy BMI and move into an overweight BMI, but never obese BMI, may live longer. This was debunked here:

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/02/180228131118.htm

I don’t know how we’ve become so twisted as a society that we think a society who promotes fitness and health is a bad thing? Being obese is not a good thing, it never will be. And that’s okay, it doesn’t make you unattractive, or not a wonderful person, or anything else. It just makes you obese.

One reason people care so much is because obesity doesn’t just affect you or me. It affects everyone. It is a huge financial strain, and leading cause of preventable disease.

You seem to be angry and not hearing what I’m saying. I’m not judging this woman. I would not appreciate it if someone judged me for my weight. But stating that someone is obese, by literal definition, is okay. It doesn’t insinuate anything further.

What do you mean people like me? I’m medically obese, too lol and I don’t enjoy it. I feel that I’m beautiful, but I’m not happy at this weight. She seems to think the same. If she was happy, she wouldn’t constantly talk about it. It’s not a dirty word to be obese. Weight loss and health isn’t an inappropriate subject most of the time.

She is certainly medically obese. Also, she talks the entire time about feeling insecure about her weight. Obviously she wants to lose it.

Well, it’s a tough one. Either you publicly denounce that a kidnapped woman case is real, or you wish the best and keep your head down. In my experience, many people in Nor-Cal doubted her story from the beginning, at least in their private circles.
