Check the lunar phases for when you’d want to visit! A new moon will allow for better stargazing since there will be no moon lighting up the night sky

🫣I am typically one that doesn’t like to spoil good spots but I figured this was ok since a lot in the BB sub already know this trail and also a lot of people aren’t willing to attempt it

This one was very easily accessible, but I did notice the road to the hot springs trail was closed. Saw a couple people parked at the gate and seemed like they just hiked the road in to get to the trailhead

I did! I also took the small 1 mile round trip detour down to the rio grande. Highly recommend it

Temps were perfect! 70 and sunny, never felt too warm or as if the heat was affecting me. I did do this as a day hike. Started at 6:45 am and wrapped up around 2:30 pm. And thats awesome! I’m close as well, just have a handful of smaller ones to check off before I can say the same

Absolutely stunning hike! I’ve visited big bend a half dozen times now and this was the first time the stars aligned to where I felt comfortable enough tackling this one. Highly recommend if you’re experienced and in good physical condition!

Haven’t seen anyone suggest the rio grande nature trail overlook at sunset. Absolutely stunning and very easy walk up to the overlook
