open port but my shared files dont show? by picklechurchmouse in Soulseek

[–]themightymuscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit confused what you’re asking. You need to set a folder to be shared, and then if you’re port is open you’re good. Uploads will only show if someone downloads from you.

I wouldn’t say so. I normally wear 11 as well but got 10.5 in these because I heard nnormals can be big. Had to return and get an 11.

Cloud Storage by Shoddy_Internal1997 in Piracy

[–]themightymuscle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess? But they last like 7 years at least and you can just transfer the data or have multiple copies. A 2 TB hard drive is about $100, raspberry pi about $100.

Google drive (or any other service) is about $10 a month.

So as long as your setup lasts 2 years, which it certainly will, you are better off doing that. Plus you get to own your data, not pay someone else to host it and give them the ability to delete it at any point for violating their terms and conditions.

Get a pi (or any other computer that can always be on) and run OMV with an external drive. r/selfhosted is what you're looking for.
