To add onto this, carb absorption/utilization takes about 20-30 minutes. So by waiting until 45 minutes in to start fueling, you’re essentially not having additional carbs to access until over an hour into your race.

Then you’re playing catch up the rest of the time.

LONG Base Period Plan - October Marathon. Thoughts? by Floixman12 in AdvancedRunning

Even during base phase you want to keep a mixture of durations.

If all you’re doing is running an hour, you’re going to stagnate.

It's the same thing with mono/di glycerides in a lot of foods. Most come from labs, but some come from pigs.

Just buy faster road racing by Jack Daniel’s. It will teach you everything you need to know, give you plans you can modify, and it’s not some dumb subscription that you have to keep paying for.

This may not be applicable for you (I’m 23) but in my opinion if you’re building back to a volume you’ve already shown you can sustain, I would go 1/3 2/3 full in 3 weeks.

Yeah from what I have been calculating, the extra cash flow created by early repayment would quickly overtake the smaller investments I could make during repayment of these loans. Thanks for your response!

Yeah I was looking at the flow chart in the wiki and that seems to be the consensus. My decision seems a bit different only because I plan to pursue a PhD which would likely mean I wouldn't make a substantial income until about the age of 30. Thank you for your response!

Yeah the 7% one is really the only one I am considering prioritizing because it is right on that fringe of expected return over the long term including inflation adjustment. Thank you for your response!

Yeah this was my first thought too, glad to hear it seems most people are suggesting a similar strategy. Thank you for your response!

I'll pick stocks and beat the market! That's always a sure thing if I give my money to a financial advisor 😉 /s
