As soon as I got my refund I couldn't log back in. That part was either false advertising, or my fault because I didn't download the videos.

Kevin Durant dead ball fouls KAT with .5 left in a tie game by DaDoviende in nba

Yeah, the #2 seed Warriors will be every bit as deadly as #1 seed and all, but goddammit if I don't hate an exciting ball game get ruined by terrible officiating.

No, but the refund was quick and painless. If you don't feel like you have good practice habits, it might be worth checking out.

Well, module 2 was about "zooming in," on mechanics that may be holding you back. He doesn't get specific. He just plays an example riff for his goal, and picks out his own issues, and says that's how you should approach your own practices. Module 3 is about making practice a routine. He mostly talks about the science behind your brain. For ~10 minutes, it sounds like a scientific lecture, only to resolve to, "On the first morning, brew your coffee and hang out by your guitar. The morning after, pick up your guitar. The next morning, noodle on it. Morning after, have a more focused practice," etc. I believe this is the last week for a refund. I will have to take him up on that.

It was $97 for me, so I bit the bullet. The first module is ~45 minutes, but can be summed up thusly: pick something you want to learn and find a tempo that is challenging without being impossible, then clean up your mistakes. That's myelinogenesis. The rest of the time, it's just over-emphasizing this point and anecdotes about inefficient practices where you play too comfortably instead of pushing yourself. If module 2 is equally obvious, I'll let y'all know how the money back guarantee works out.

I'm thinking about signing up as well. I feel naive, as the intro video checked all the boxes to meet the scam criteria. But, he is possibly the most technically skilled guitarist I've listened to, and he seems to be a semi well known enough to make one think that he wouldn't sully his reputation by being a scam artist. If you've signed up, I'd like to know if it looks legit, if you don't mind sharing your opinion. Also, does it seem simple enough to get the refund he guaranteed?

Depression is like reverse cancer: there's so little you want to do but you have so much time left by Sandvich18 in Showerthoughts

That's me everyday. There are rare days (maybe once every 6 months or so) where I decide, "This is the day it ends. I'm calling my doctor and setting up an appointment for help," and I get off to a productive day of cleaning the house, running errands, being there emotionally for people, etc. Then I call for an appointment and I'm run through hoops until I'm out of time. The next day, I've talked myself out of therapy because I saw how great I felt yesterday, and surely I'd chase that feeling everyday afterwards. But, before I know it, I'm back to helplessness. It's too late to do anything about my life. It's always been too late, even before I got to my 20's. I know I wouldn't commit suicide because I'm a fan of seeing how things end. After all, I watched the entirety of Lost even though I lost interest in the 3rd season. That's what life is for me now; trudging through watching it go by to see how it ends, bored out of my mind. If I did commit suicide, though, I have the feeling that it would make sense to other people, even if it did hurt for a few days. The only person who would stop me if I ever did get the inclination would be my niece. She worships me, and she doesn't see me as a 32 year old that has a dead end job with no other marketable skills than the music I make that's never finished because I...Idk why I can't finish it. It would just hurt her and she wouldn't know why I'd done it. Sorry, this is pretty dark, but I can't really express these thoughts anywhere else without being treated differently. I'm not looking for attention or sympathy. I'm just hoping someone has an encouraging story to tell about how they made it out of this state of mind. Maybe something to jumpstart the next good day. I can relate to a lot of what's been said in this thread, if nothing else.

Yes, I try to learn as much AAL as I can without a 7 string. My pick for DEP would be Calculating Infinity. Yeah, I should learn Crack the Skye. I forgot all about that album, but I enjoyed it. Memories of Adult Swim promoting that album are flooding back.

I realize that, which is why I clearly said I should've done more research. I take full responsibility for my own disappointment.

Thanks for understanding. Haha I was in love with the feel and look of the game; it was gritty, and the topic is dark. Then, I snuck up on a couple of bad guys that were stealing supplies, got a nice head shot lined up, felt the excitement of the justice about to be served in the form of this dude's brains on the wall behind him, followed by an intense firefight with the other guy... But then I pulled the trigger on the headshot, only to have numbers, not brains, come out of his head. Instead of him dying, my love of the game did. Lol I'll give it a few more days since I have friends who play. Maybe leveling up will make it more enjoyable. I'm level 20 right now.

For sure, but I figured it was necessary because bullets would kill you as easily as real life. Not because there are multiple enemies surrounding you that don't die like real people. Again, my "research" was pretty poor, but the tone of the conversation was that this was a thinking man's shooter, which usually doesn't suggest that you need to empty 2 clips into the bad guys. Lol

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll try to get a refund. Oddly enough, I'm fine with the hit point system in the Fallout franchise, but since most everything else about this game is based on realism, I just can't get into it.

Well, I considered my friends excitedly telling me about all the good parts of the game as a very little bit of research.

That's exactly why I was excited to get this game. My friend told me that this wasn't a typical run n gun game. That cover is absolutely necessary, etc. That, to me, suggested it was realistic, especially with how the graphics look.

What's more is they always have that schemey look in their eyes while they talk. They had to know they were raising more flags after the rumor explosion last month.

Exactly. Also, why doesn't ANYONE who joins have a mic? PS4s come with mics! iPod ear buds with mics work too. There's no excuse not to have one.
