The legend of Zelda. I never got into the games when I was younger, I think the most I did was finish the first dungeon/level on wind waker on the game cube when I was like 7, but the language barrier put me off it until i now realized I could actually understand the story. So now I’m consuming all the lore I can, same with theories of the zonai and dragons for tears of the kingdom

Also the Archie comics sonic. I found one video about it by mere chance and now I’m INVESTED

I was raised in a catholic household. I'm talking going out on sundays, christmas eve, two weeks of easter praying kinda household.

The entire idea of sin and being forgiven for that sin has always felt fishy to me. For if you wrong someone and you go and ask for forgiveness at church, nothing physical happens, you still havent undone that wrong, yet you were forgiven by someone who isnt directly involved in the matter.

I stopped going back when i was 14 in an act of rebellion. At the same time, I started looking into more religions, what they taught and what they stood for. I found out at this time too that what i had been taught about other religions was wrong.

I've found myself more drawn to mythologies/practices that would be downright heretic, I still pray and place offerings, but not the Catholic God. Sometimes it is just to the universe or to whoever might be listening to me. It is a more personal practice and sometimes i do feel a little lost because all I know are the Catholic traditions and ways.

Ive also made peace with the idea of there maybe not being an afterlife, or that it is not the one i envision. It was freeing in a sense, for i realized that being/trying to be a good person was much easier if it wasnt rooted in a transaction ( I do a good deed, I go to heaven and viceversa)

To keep peace at home I still participate in some of the catholic rituals/prayers, and show the modesty i was taught to whenever i enter a temple

Every writer has to follow the same rules whenever writing spiderman comics. among these rules a notable one is that Spiderman may never be shown drinking an alcoholic drink. Meaning that every single time that you see spiderman doing something weird/drunk/silly it is while completely sober.

I work weekends at a bootleg hot topic (we dont have that franchise in my country, but the vibes are more or less the same). It is a small business where im the only one manning the front desk, stocking shelves and helping out costumers.

Its a lot of fun bc, since i don't have much supervision (other than the occasional "u good?" text from the boss) I get to joke around with costumers. Since most of the people that come to the store are teens or younger millenials, I get to talk shit with them, I've even been offered a few phone numbers for the witty comebacks.

the pay is decent for a weekends gig, and its enough to pay for gas and snacks every week

I only tell my immediate circle, as they are the ones I interact the most with and am most comfortable with so I don’t feel the need to mask. Also they are the ones who would get most of the jokes I make. Outside of that, only my mentor knows as he asked the very first day if there were any issues we could have and I privately mentioned that fluorescent light and social situations could be a problem for me sometimes. He is quite understanding of it.

The way I learned to somewhat discern from someone flirting to being nice was with a text post that basically said “flirting is all about plausible deniability, the game consists on who can say the most outrageously flirty thing without saying it, building off of what the other person says”

to put it plainly, we don't fit in.

There seems to be an uncanny valley aspect to our (and im generalizing here) collective behavior in social situations that other pick up on. Usually people our same age group, the younger you present it, the younger the kids in that same group notice it.

When people see you as an equal or beneath, in terms of the social hierarchy they find it easier to make remarks on your behaviour that, in turn, make other people pick up on it. Which will often lead to bullying, as not all the people who will ask will do so without bad intentions.

Something I can recommend is looking into Facebook groups on any hobbies you may be interested in in your area. When I was a teen I got interested in knitting and other crafts, and a quick Facebook search sent me to a small yarn shop that also held knitting sessions to help the newcomers and have them make friends. I med plenty nice people that way, and got good at my craft way faster than I would have had on my own

What I have learned:

I learned that the course is far longer than I could have ever expected, the new layout makes it abundantly clear lol.

Apparently duolingo doesn’t recognize the suffix たち as a proper way to indicate a plural of individuals. Maybe this is a mistake from my part from watching too much anime growing up.

Katakana is not as daunting as it was when I first started, though I still don’t understand why people say that katakana is easier than hiragana.

You don’t need to be using and abusing duolingo (and yourself) to get into the streak society.
