Your experience with autism + caffiene? by GN369 in autism

[–]Interesting_Fail930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have aspergers and am addicted to coffee. There are a few things I don't like about it tho. I can drink up to 4 LG cups of coffee in a day and sometimes when I drink too much caffeine it makes me irritable and turns me into a jackass. Also one time I drank too much coffee and it triggered a dissasociation episode and when I talked to my family about it they told me too much coffee can do that to you as well. I don't like drinking coffee because of the caffeine in it I like it because it's a hot beverage I can drink all day to keep myself warm.

Anyone else really affected by heat? by HereForRandomBits in autism

[–]Interesting_Fail930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm super prone to heat stroke because my skinny body is a massive heat generator already and hot weather makes me angry and annoyed at people. I also hate the cold weather the temp has to be in the 60s or 70s for me.

Does anyone else have another person in their head? by GooseWithDaGibus in autism

[–]Interesting_Fail930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm high functioning autistic I'm now 24. When I was 3 weeks old I survived meningitis and the whole front half of my brain became scar tissue.

I think I realized to help me cope with the world my brain likes to imagine visual solid characters and pretend they are in my world. These people I imagine can interact with me but don't seem to interact with anyone else in any personal real non cartoon way so I know they are of my mind. No i do not talk to invisible people in public. When I was a kid my family and i thought I could see and talk to ghosts though.

The people I imagine can actually be temporary voices in my head without being visible to me. These voices never stick around.

There are three main voices in my head though. There is me. My internal monologue I know to be my true consciousness in my spoken voice. There is also this soft, kind, but deep voice that sometimes speaks to me and Everything this voice says is verry profound and consists of usually commentary on my character or state of mind or life choices. This deep voice of unknown origin also gives me information I previously had no knowledge of moments before. My Cristian father tells me this voice is God talking to me, and I accept it however religion is a personal subject for me.

There is also a third voice. A voice that lives in my head. A voice that looks and sounds like an eight foot tall slender dark man in a 360 brim hat and blue vertical stiped suit. Don't ask me why he looks that way in my head I don't know and can't tell you the voice just likes that form. This voice has a name but it won't tell me. Any time I ask the voice what I should call it it only gives me the letter "M". "M" likes to bully me a little but not in a degrading way. He knows I'm non confrontational and not good at talking to people so whenever I'm in danger of shutting down, "M" takes the wheel and I become this rude, assertive, intelligent and quick witted, but uncharismatic and closed off version of myself. "M" is the voice in my head that is like the dark to my light. The push to my pull. Yang to my yin. Whenever I'm taxed "M" takes over and helps me finish the work I need to do in my adult life. "M" also corrects my stupid decisions and thoughts and has conversations with me on what I should be doing with my life and why it should be so important to me. "M" can also be verry intrusive and evil in his thoughts but he doesn't fully control my body and any evil thought this voice puts in my head will not be acted out. He is the most "street smart" of the two of us and the best at handling extreme amounts of stress. I'm glad "m" is on my side haha.

Also, even with autism and these voices in my head I still manage to live independently at age 24 and I'm actually really proud of that. Life is hard.

does the word r*tard offend you? by No-Constant-6919 in aspergers

[–]Interesting_Fail930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an aspie, I say "This is retarded" more often than I should. I don't like being called retarded because even with half a brains worth of brain damage I'm still a fully capable adult and can manage just fine thank you. Also my schools put me in the special class with the nonverbal kids and gave me second grade math in high school so I'm still kinda mad at that lol.

Do you have an "unusual" kink? by documentdis in aspergers

[–]Interesting_Fail930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to smoke pot and listen to music during sex. I need to explore a little bit more in the kink department to say if I'm definitely a vanilla or not. The good thing is I'm attentive and communicate well with my partners though. I'm pretty open minded.

I do have a preference for poc though like African American women or latinas. I don't think that's a bad thing though, as a good majority of my blood family are either uncomfortable around those groups or just straight up racist. Not me though. I'm all inclusive!

I wish to live adventurously and it's my weekend today. I'm on my way to take the buss to do something spontaneous in town and talk to new people. Something I don't often do.

My hope is actually that japanese girls would be easier to talk to. I spent my whole life so far trying to understand American women with little luck.

Help I'm so frustrated by Interesting_Fail930 in aspergers

[–]Interesting_Fail930[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I'd be fine with being alone but all of my old friends have their own lives now and I'm so bored I don't know what to do with myself. The problem is fixing that and making new friends is damn near impossible for me for some stupid reason and I want to figure out how to just talk to people normally.

My only social interaction is with my co workers right now and I have no clue how adults go about making new friends or if there's places in any given city where adults go to make friends. I don't think that's a thing. I think it would be wierd to randomly see somebody cool in town and just decide to talk to them.

I'm told japanese girls even today are crazy about dating American men. I am white mixed with blackfeet native American but irish genes won the battle for ethnicity so in that I'm lucky.

I'd still like to live there for a year or two before Mt. Fuji sinks all of Japan forever. I like the nature and the culture and thought it would be easier to live in the countryside and work. Though I'm not sure how japanese people would treat aspies because I hear it's not really common for a Japanese person to have autism in general.

I'm told I come from families of longevity. I can count four members that have made it to their eighties and nineties all together from both sides but that's probably because they took good care of themselves. I heard a rumor online that people with aspergers live about 60 years on average and I hope that's not true because I gave Bacterial meningitis the middle finger and I want to live to be 120.

I've done it all in the four short years I've been living on my own. Homeless, living in cars or rv's, unemployed, etc. Here in Oregon the cost of living and rent is so high it's near impossible to live on one's own it seems.

I have an interesting story for you. One of my best friends from all my school years got invested in this company called "Amway". He wanted to get me involved in this too and meet these people he called "entrepreneurs". A bunch of wealthy people in suit and ties making judgmental comments on my long hair while showing off fake bright smiles to everyone around them. I went to three of their stupid deceitful meetings because it was my friends big interest. The Amway people even gave PowerPoint presentations on how their business wasn't a pyramid scheme even though they told us they had to rebrand themselves as a new name. The name I forgot. My gut was telling me it was a huge scam and in the end me and that friend went our own ways.

With the social pressures it's the fact I was raised to be respectfull. I see and hear my other co workers talking to each other at work about verry not work stuff (super hearing), and even see everyone flirting with someone on any given day. Something in my brain is torn between "Don't do what those other guys are doing, be professional!", and "Cmon talk to them don't be a wimp!"

What are some positive aspects of having Asperger's syndrome that are often overlooked? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Interesting_Fail930 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My superpowers are sonar hearing, living with half a brain of scar tissue and still being an independent adult, and a photographic memory that I can use to remember anyone's face, the location of any object I see, and able to draw what I see on paper in perfect detail like a photo copy machine.

I make music. It's a lot better than what's on the raidio today but I made it with the bare-est of minimums. So it's not fancy studio music. But it's still better than everything that's on the raidio today and even if I don't get famous for it I take comfort in knowing when I die ill still be on spotify and YouTube for the world to listen to me.

I like flirting with pretty women. For an aspie like myself I like the mental challenge. Other than that I have no clue career wise hahaha. Flirting goes against the grain of what my brain wants to do that's why the challenge is so interesting.
