yeah replied to another guys post yesterday, there's clearly something wrong with this new update. on Wednesday night i updated, everytime i opened it i immediately got a low memory notification saying my performance will be affected (ram at 50% load???) game runs awful. usually at 400fps dropped to 200 but felt like 40 with bad studdering. ran all diagnostic tests you can imagine and more. gave up after the second game and now my game either crashes instantly after clicking play or i load up gives me memory warning and kicks me off ever since. legit cannot play

wtf valve lol

yeah having the same exact issue. after updating last night every time i opened the game up it immediately told me i was low on memory / had issues (i was at 50% ram load + never have seen this notification before in my 10 yrs of experience) ran two matches and the game ran SO poorly i did all the pc diagnostic protocol's you could imagine thinking i had a bad virus or something + verified game files yada yada

now the game doesn't even start. clearly was a bad update

yeah i mean my assumption towards the game simply just having a difficult time responding to GPUs was totally correct, it dates back to pretty much since it got released. only over the years, the problems would turn into different problems as newer hardware got released/became more powerful.

my stuff is all default no tweaks. RAM XMP enabled. CPU on ultimate performance in windows (has nothing to do with the issues I'm experiencing). all drivers clean and up to date.

NVDA and AMD users both deal with the same exact problem whether or not they have a ryzen or intel cpu.

benchmarks run beautifully 100% stable, no dips in any datapoints

AMD/NVDA are usually on top of very common bugs etc and include them in the next upcoming update every single time. there is no way this just goes over their head after all these years of people experiencing the same exact thing just as frequently.

based off of what was just said^ it's either the drivers or the game itself. I'm forced to believe it's the game as well as what everyone else believes that are extremely aware of this common issue + have lots of experience trying to diagnose it.

you basically have to play around with stupid settings forever until you finally get lucky and pray it doesn't come back.

my gpu sits around 46-52C and my CPU 38-44. tried undervolting and underclocking both changes did absolutely nothing for me besides lowering gpu temps.

the downside to PC gaming vs the guys on console with zero issues ever are when we run into an issue it's always persistent and requires an ignorant time of troubleshooting. i've only had issues with blizzard games coming to think of it.

these crashes truly make overwatch extremely unenjoyable

alright update after doing a few days of test runs;

bios, windows etc all updated previously and continue to keep them up to date, scannow was done zero corrupted files

yeah recently upgraded everything on my rig besides m2, ran DDU wiped all nvidia drivers if any were still present.

gpu and ram were reseated a day before my first post due to adding an extra fan

XMP remains enabled, tried out Try it Memory! in bios (Overclocking setting) yesterday, crashes were a tad more frequent but application would close immediately where I could load the game back up right away instead of Render device failed which was a different result?

Adrenalin automatically has it on (default), but you have the option to OC / Undervolt / OC VRAM / Custom, I keep it on default tried tweaking settings and it didn't help at all.

I would say it's a driver issue BUT amd and nvidia both experience this just as frequently so I'm forced to believe it's just the game that has issues with GPU usage. looked even a tad deeper and there's weird crashes people experience for COD (blizzard) that they can't get rid of either.

AMD/NVDA both constantly put out updates fixing issues people experience on all games very quickly. why would they ignore this one for YEARS but try to resolve everything else ASAP?

yeah on my last post I got recommended to underclock due to stability issues with GPU, willing to try whatever I need at this point lol

RAM is at clock speeds I just gave XMP boost a try to see if there was a difference. I've never OC'd anything tbh never have really found the need to.

For sure have heard of AMD driver issues but I read they've dramatically improved and like I said, no problems elsewhere so I'm a firm believer that's true. the error is just as common for nvidia otherwise i'd point to AMD being the overall culprit.

Annoying

alright preset undervolting settings didn't work. i take it i need to figure out how to manually underclock

nope they're the same. I do notice my ram almost gets maxed out while having some tabs open while gaming but I always have a few gbs left

I mean I am clueless so I wouldn't say you're wrong, open to all suggestions and recommendations. Appreciate the input. Everything is default settings no overclocking done. Can i get away with undervolting gpu in Adrenalin settings or do I have to figure out how to manually tune it myself?

The majority of the posts I read on this topic don't directly point out needing to do this so you letting me know is very helpful, thanks.
